CTV heralds Carneys “strategic partnership with Sweden “

Oh please. Carney has his wife at the UN speaking for “ children”.

But this is the truth :” King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden has no formal political or executive power; his governance authority is solely ceremonial and representative. Sweden is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, where all political power rests with the people, the Parliament (Riksdag), and the government led by the Prime Minister”

This “ mini me Trumpism” of Carney et famille is tiresome.

Don’t even start me on Minister Jolys “ economic benefit “ of a Saab warplane over the F35 .

I drive a Saab. Good car. Bankrupt company. Which has as much to do with anything, as these bloviating liberal laurentian elites have, on Canadian defense policy

Carney is playing the US file horribly. Our believed 'moral superiority' over the United Stated will hurt Canadian workers short and medium term. Just honour the F35 contract and move on

I also believe that if we continue down this path of horrible economic, defence and foreign affairs mismanagement, Canada will likely become part of the United Sates. Trump will be long gone but some president in the future will view Canada as a national security threat. A bullet won't be fired.

Im saving up to buy a Lilley subscription. Im retired in rural

Ontario but poor Brian lives in Toronto with 30% or more property tax increases.

But my post Now is on “racism”. Not drugs that’s absurd.

Racism in my lifetime :

Australia. “ white Australia “ immigration policy in the 1950’s. Aussies hated “”damned pommies “ ,”useless Italians “ and despised bloody Abo’s . The Australian wine industry is now a marvel worldwide.

Malaya ( as it was then) Malays hated the Chinese. ( Malays were typically lazy and laid back. Chinese hardworking and industrious and made Singapore a jewel.

Oh Canada.

English Canada abused French Canada with relentless perfidy. “ Pepsi’s”.

The terrible assassination of a Quebec minister was a direct result of vicious racism imho.

Typical Montreal west island young males spent Friday nights chasing “squaws” on the south shore Kahnawake Mohawk Territory

Then in Ottawa Ontario the Canadian reaction to the Lebanese Syrian heritage of Paul Anka was only positive when he became a USA pop star. Residential Ottawa was a racist cess pool at that time.

Of course we could discuss Japanese and Chinese internment in Canada.

Drugs. Sure

They have a lot of delusional people in high places in BC. Enabling addicts to continue their habit is not what they need. They need rehabilitation to help them get off drugs.

Its only the unclassified and if anyone thinks the dirts in the unclassified I have a used door to sell them. Trump did everything in his power to keep this covered up, now people believe he just woke up and said no big deal let them see everything . Because what has been kept under wraps and still will is the part Israel played. When that comes out you have something to cheer about. And why anyone for one moment think Carneys any different than the guy that destroyed Englands economy I have a matching door like the other one to sell too

10000 jobs is a bit optimistic but being able to build a Canadian military aviation sector again is gold. Plus, Gripen is the better fighter.

PS to all who read Brian Lilley and enjoy his work

Not pissing off America really is a sensible strategy

And ( ad nauseum ) I really like crude and rude New Yorkers who walk the talk and keep their word. Trump is such.

His cabinet is awesome.

As for Lilley and the Sun!

Batra. Goldberg . Warmington. Even Kinsella . Charlebois. Agar. These are an awesome group of columnists. Lilley has a rightful place in this group.

Really? Saab js a better fighter than f35? Not to start an argument but ? Really? If you are expert on such things please share your expertise.

The Avro Arrow is long gone. A memory. It would make more sense to ask bombardier to build a jet warplane .

But it doesn’t.

F35. End of.

So John, where does your expertise come from? I hope it doesn’t come from Brian Lilley! I read his Toronto Sun analysis and it was mediocre at best but his pushing for F-35 is to not piss off Trump, our main trading partner. What Brian fails to mention is the issue of software and who has control of it. So, is your analysis based on Trump bootlicking?

Here we go. Trump boot licking.

Fact. USA military power and expertise is unmatched in the world today . Prove me wrong ?

You can’t.

Canada has depended on the USA economy for at least five generations. 90% of Canadas population lives within 300 km of the USA Canada border.

The depth of manufacturing expertise and the level of software and hardware integration in the USA military is unmatched by Sweden. As resourceful and expert as the Swedes are, these are facts:

Sweden military force : 25,000.

Swedish airforce : 8000

USA : 2 million military including national guard.

USAF: 500,000

Swedish Gripens in service : 98

USAF f 35 : 1250.

Usual disclaimers.

And Paul? Grok:”Military hardware varies by country, with the United States, China, and Russia leading in overall spending and quantities of advanced equipment, while countries like India and Saudi Arabia are major importers. The US has the largest navy and highest number of fighter jets.”

So what’s your point? That we are vassals to the US? Despite their immense power they have been proven that they are unsuccessful in all but the Iraqi war. They have also clearly demonstrated that they do not follow through on commitments. What is the lesson of the war in the Ukraine? How about reneging on the guarantees of protection when the Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons.

If you simply agree with might is right, then honestly articulate that. “The World According to Donald Trump”. Perhaps take a broader view of this issue in terms of the stark warning of Dwight Eisenhower on the dangers of the military industrial complex. I think that going with the Gripen, and building a capable alliance with our Northern world neighbors will bear more fruit than aligning with a nation state that is controlled by Putin. No? Reliance on America will always make us a dispensable partner in larger conflicts. Maybe look at Finland as an example of living beside a giant? Or, let’s be boot lickers, compromised by our fealty to our American bosses. Just like Brian Lilley and the Toronto Star.

You are a minion. Obviously, you are one of the 25% of Canadians who idolize Trump or 50% of Conservatives. As such, your opinions should be disqualified in favour of National Security. If you really like Nee Yorkers, look at who they vote for? My god you are out of it.
