Trump says he confronted Carney over wildfire smoke...

Tension at the World Cup, Gordie Howe Bridge deal and fighter jet follies.

Once again, we are getting news about our government from a foreign source. Donald Trump stopped to talk to reporters after leaving the World Cup and said he spoke to Carney about the wildfire issue.

Trump may be wrong on this, I certainly believe he is, but it doesn’t stop the fact that any news on this front, or the Gordie Howe Bridge deal just isn’t coming from the Carney government.

As I write, still no public itinerary from the PM yet, so no clue what he is up to and whether he will be out to address any of these issues.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford will be out at 10:30 am ET to hold an update on the wildfire situation in the northern part of the province.

Watch for more on that later today.
