Have you heard that the City of Toronto is a major ticket scalper for the World Cup?
Yep, and the city staff did all this at the behest of Mayor Olivia Chow and the majority of council.
Some 3,546 tickets were purchased with $10.7 million tax dollars and most of them were sold off at higher prices. That’s illegal now in Ontario, the law says you can only resell at face value, but they did all this before Doug Ford changed the law.
In my column on this issue, I look at the hypocrisy of Mayor Olivia Chow, who less than a year ago was calling for prices to be capped.
