We’ve had an interesting debate about self-defence law in Canada for some time. I posted about Castle Law a few weeks ago and how it’s already on the books in this country, we just need some policy tweaks to ensure it is upheld.
Solomon Friedman is an old friend of mine, a criminal defence lawyer in Ottawa, and an expert in self-defence cases and gun laws.
In September he joined me on an episode of the Full Comment podcast to discuss this whole range of issues. If you haven’t heard the whole thing, I’ve posted it below but Friedman knows more about self-defence law than just about anyone I know.
In this video we talk about what the law says and doesn’t say in Canada.
