Suicidal empathy is affecting most Western nations and it will be our undoing. Those of us who can move are making plans to leave now. We must reverse course and stop the immigration.
This is a structured movement to destroy everything the west stands for, and to replace it with something foreign. The west stands for democracy, freedom, rights, tradition, order, and peace. Unfortunately, modern liberals have destroyed these foundations, through centralized control. All of our institutions are controlled by the liberal mindset. The courts lean left. Healthcare leans left. Education leans left. This is what control over society looks like, and when people push back they are called racist or bigoted. It suddenly became ok for mothers to murder their children, for criminals to be released on bail, and for men to become women, as well as use their washrooms/play their sports. It is now okay to send millions upon billions of dollars in foreign aid to other countries, while your own suffers from inflation. It is happening all around Europe, North America, and Australia. This is called managed decline and forcing people to accept it is authoritarian. The west has become institutionalized by radical liberals.

Excellent interview. I bought my copy in Washington DC because my local “woke” bookshop in Ontario wouldn’t order it. We are in stage 5 and it is going to get ugly.
Globalist look for any program that can and will degrade the working class in western civilizations, the goal is to put the worker on a par with workers in places like India, China etc. There is nothing that makes the globalist’s head spin more than paying some worker in the west 10x a worker in the developing world that produces at the same level of productivity. They see this as the western worker benefiting from their capital investment and they don’t want to share.
I remember the topic of suicidal empathy being raised years ago when I was one of the many conspiracy theories we are now acknowledging. Perhaps we will soon acknowledge replacement migration which is now unavoidably being discussed. How many other verboten topics will we watch become our new reality in a year or two? Digital ID, Digital cash, surveillance...

This is the part that Gad is missing. Integration is a concept that has been worked into the tax system since tax reform in 1971. The Kenneth Carter-led Royal Commission on Taxation in the 60s articulated the famous principle that "a buck is a buck." It argued that income should bear roughly the same total tax whether earned directly by an individual or through a corporation. This became the intellectual foundation for integration. Gad says right in the interview that he has funnelled some of his money through a company and paid tax at the lower rate. The assumption though is that it will eventually be taken out and taxed personally by way of dividends. Without a departure tax, he would be avoiding that second step. That is a whole other argument from whether that dollar is taxed at too high a rate. That is where his focus should be. Arguing against the departure tax, per se, makes him look uninformed. And there are lots of ways to mitigate it with some proper planning especially if done over a period of time. I am sure that most of his departure tax is because of his private corporation. But that is literally a feature not a bug. Single tear from me.
Gad is a smart guy and I agree with him about most things. But he needs to stop with the complaints about the departure tax. He looks foolish to anyone who understands it. I suppose there aren’t many of us so maybe he doesn’t care but the unfortunate thing for me is it makes me wonder what else he is talking about when he has no clue. His complaints are fine if he wants to talk about tax rates etc but every country has some version of a departure tax and the departure tax applies the basically same integration policies the rest of the ITA does. And you are reducing your tax on some future income. He has made the decision that it is worth it for him to leave. He doesn’t have to. It will be interesting to see if he applies for OAS when he turns 65. Because it is insane a high income person like him should get it after he leaves the country. The same income tests should apply.
Came to the safety of Canada from Lebanon as a 9 year old, enjoyed a subsidized world class education at McGill, collected a generous public sector salary as a professor at Concordia for decades which he appears to have invested successfully and is now being asked to pay a share to the country that provided him with safety, an education and employment. And I am supposed to feel upset or sorry for him?
Not sure Mississippi is a haven for Jews, especially once you leave the university bubble as shown by the recent fire bombing of Mississippi’s largest synagogue. The grass is always greener.
I think that Western Nations, for the first time in history, are applying the compassion demanded by their dominant religion: Christianity. Help the poor, desperate, feed the hungry, do not discriminate. All in the spirit of Jesus of Nazareth. ‘What you have done to the least of them you have done onto me’
The tribal instinct (nationalism is identity politics, too) that we often feel, is a primate reaction, maybe hardwired into us through evolution.
So who/what wins? Moral/religious consistency or tribal survival?
