There’s a LOT of untraceable MONEY in that program. The Liberals will take a large cut, IMHO. There is NEVER an accounting on “program” money.

Philip O'Dell's avatar

And the most interesting part; none of that "consulting" or "program" money is going to people who are actually competent people in the firearms field. It is one more Liberal boondoggle to redistribute taxpayers funds into the hands of Liberal supporters. Actual knowledge, progress, or crime fighting is irrelevant. The money will be spent ideologically.

100% agree. Just like most Liberal ‘programs’.

More ridiculous malfeasance from liberals. Why ? Because Carneys strategy is to sow anger and division among the electorate. A large number of voters are anti gun. Create anger and they will support liberals

This clown show of an illegitimate group of ding dongs can’t even get their sheet together to do anything correctly, intelligence is just not there to implement this big job of this magnitude 😂😂!! It’s a joke!! I’m sorry I am just laughing every day at the ineptitude of these liberachies!! I am NOT laughing about the poor ion search of food tho, all the billions spent on this stupidity could have gone a long way for many who are struggling!!

The math is even starker when you look at the parliamentary returns. An Order Paper Question tabled by Senator Plett revealed the government spent $67.2 million on this program before collecting a single firearm. When you weigh that administrative burn rate against a yield of 25 guns, it seems the bureaucracy is the only tangible output.

This whole insane gun buyback programme is a direct result of the intense lobbying by the lady that is committed to remove all firearms because of the killing of the 14 women by Mark Lepine, who in my opinion was nothing more than a terrorist and should have dealt with accordingly, to categorise all firearms due to that as illegal is a travesty, instead of refocusing on that tragic event, these liberal masters of ours are just going to punish anybody they can instead of doing something constructive about the continuing gang violence and use of firearms the liberals do nothing and leave the general population in fear of the daily violence these gang bangers create, they see that the general public is ignorant to the legitimate ownership and use of legal firearms so they use their paid media platform to villainize licensed firearms owners. We can't wait long enough to rid ourselves of these liberal hacks, before they come up with some other idiotic idea to gain votes.

She is just the latest "useful idiot" in a long line of them. The goal is to implement long standing Liberal policies to enable unfettered taxation and funds transfer to Quebec and the Laurentians.

what's the point of this?

What moron would turn in their gun for the pennies govnt give them. Of course, this was tried in the US. They bought back mostly broken useless guns, even 3d printed guns. Wasted taxpayer $. Watch what is going on in Minnesota. Put a liberal in charge expect waste, fraud and no accountability.

No doubt about it. What I mean by incompetent is this: If the libs could lead a competent, forthright government, they wouldn’t have to resort to underhanded vote buying tactics, their record would speak for itself. They most definitively can’t stand on their record so they develop policies popular with the uninformed gullible vote rich central and eastern Canadian electorate. That’s not leadership, that’s sleazy politics.

YMS's avatar

What we have is not a firearms problem, we have a common sense deficit within this liberal government. All they are interested in is catering to the uninformed urban voters in vote rich central and eastern Canada.

Philip O'Dell's avatar

What you call a "common sense deficit" is actually an ongoing Liberal re-election tactic. Consistent and effective actions over time are policies and programs not incompetence. Know your enemy and don't dismiss a series of "accidental incompetences" without looking at the other side; its intentional.

Stop this failure that doesn’t make us safer and wastes our money!!

All law abiding gun owners must comply with the governments buyback for not only their safety, but the safety of all law abiding Canadians. We all know that in order for Canada to be a safe country, the only people who should have guns are the kops and robbers because of course they are the only guys who need their gun to make a living. Do the right thing and turn in your firearms.

Guns are now 'verboten'. to quote another famous leader.
