I have always voted conservative. If Doug Ford becomes leader I would have to find an alternative option.

Hmm, no, its not just his base. A very large number of CPC. Ford won because of his opponents. There were none and lowest turnout in ages. A lot of us are pissed at Ford. He did more damage to Pierre than you've stated. He also is doing a poor job fixing Healthcare in Ontario.

He has done nothing that he ran on in 2018. Nothing. And he's completely void of principals. He'll turn on a dime and pander to whoever holds the chequebook in Ottawa. He's an absolute disgrace, and shame on the party grassroots for not punting his fat ass long since.

Doug Ford lied about getting rid of Kathleen Wynne sex ed out of Ontario schools. He said he would get rid of it years ago and he has never done anything about it. Children cant read or write or simple math and he doesnt care. We pay a fortune for this and get nothing. Trudeau and Dougie are besties. He supports Carney who has has destroyed the UK and now his challenge is to see how fast he can destroy Canada. He has put Ontario in massive debt dishing out (our hard earned money) on raises for thanks for destroying Ontario. There is no money left. WE ARE IN EXTREME TROUBLE.

Doug Ford is an open book when it comes to his political aspirations to replace Pierre Poilievre’s. I stand with Pierre!

He and his campaign manager put a very public boot into Pierre Polievre, during an election campaign. I think there are enough conservatives for whom that is unforgivable that Ford does not actually have a future path to federal leadership.

There is no way Ford would get Albertans onside. Besides having finally removed his lips from Trudeau's backside to start kissing Carney's, there are many other issues. First - look at the state on Ontario - is it anything to brag about? He's done nothing to fix healthcare, the drug problems, the crap they are teaching in our schools. And although bail and other justice issues are in the hands of the feds, he's also done and nothing that IS in his power about drugs, the illegal protests in our streets, the vandalism of places of worship, schools and businesses. You think Albertans will be impressed by the social chaos of Ontario? And what about the financial chaos of Dougie's province? Albertans are fiscally conservative - live within your means people - not likely to vote for a tax and spend liberal like Doug who’s deficit keeps growing and growing.

During the big health event, Doug had Ontario locked down the hardest of all provinces and kept schools closed the longest. Albertans fired Jason Kenney for showing a fraction of Doug's draconian ways. And for the frosting on top - earlier this year when there was a leadership vacuum federally when Ford's boy Trudeau absconded his duties, Ford's solution to leadership was to light his hair on fire and run around in hysterics. When Danille Smith chose the route of diplomacy, to have the balls to meet the dragon in its very lair for the good of her province, Ford loudly and publicly called her a traitor. Do you think Albertans are going to forget that? Also, Ford's solution to tariffs was to suggest export taxes on oil, thereby saying Alberta should step up and destroy its economy to save Ontario. Again, it's my observation that Albertans have long memories and aren't likely to forget that.

Yes Ford was called down to Washington when he was blubbering about cutting off electricity, but also note after his thrashing he crawled home with his tail between his legs. Very impressive ‘leadership’ from Ford.

Ford as conservative leader will not impress Alberta or Saskatchewan, and he can’t win without them. He likely couldn’t win the leadership anyway. Unless…by then, our Albertan friends have extracted themselves from this ship wreak and no longer have voting rights for a Canadian election.

He has ruined Ontario, why give him the keys to Ottawa, remember when he was the Ontario Greenlands salesman to his developer buddies, blew up in face, he had to renege to save his sorry political fat ass, do not forget the Trudeau / Ontario / Honda EV battery plant so called investment, the list goes on and on, the only ones making money are the bum buddies of Ford, not rocket science stuff, Ontario pays consulting fees, the consults kick back to Ford, it is a win win situation for Ford, if you ever think it is not happening, give yourself a shake, Politics 101.”

Anyone but not Doug Ford. Ford disgustingly supported Trudeau for years and was drooling over Carney when he became PM. The federal Liberal government has for years devastated Canada’s economy and every other positive metric of Canada and Ford was in total collaboration with it.

Doug Ford can win elections, but he has been a horrible steward of the economy. As a western Canadian I would pass on Ford in a heart beat. I also listen to the Curse of Politics and a year ago I found Kory Teneycke analysis interesting, now I find him to be a self bloviating narcissist. I don't want that grifter near the PMO.

Thank you! My sentiments are similar: NO to Ford, who is not Conservative and who is more mouth than brains. Absolute YES to Poilievre. And, as for the foul-mouthed, backstabbing, bellicose, narcissistic, vindictive, immature Kory Teneycke…big GET STUFFED to you, Kory!

He only wins because he’s had no real serious competition. Also, he and Kory most certainly caused tremendous damage to Pierre- I suggest a poll be done with federal party members so this stupidity can finally be put to sleep

The Conservative Party just spent 10 years sorting out it's divisions to a point where they can break through when the Ontario urban liberal gravy train riders figure out they have been had. Bringing in Ford would turn back the division that still festers below the surface in Western Canada as you can see with the Wexit numbers rising over Carney's ECO liberals blocking Alberta oil to market. How anyone thinking that bringing in Ford would somehow unite the Conservative party is beyond me since he is all in for the transition to Electric fantasy!!!

Mr. Lilley states that the Conservative campaign broadsides that Ford and his buddies shot at Poilievre didn’t cost the Conservatives the election. On a pure mathematical scale, that’s a reasonable assumption.

However out in Conservative voter land, my observation is that Ford and his buddies wanted the Conservatives to LOSE the federal election, which will linger like gout if Ford angles towards a federal leadership contest. This is based on the assumption that Poilievre and Ford had a poor or non existent working relationship and that a Conservative government in Ottawa would curb the free wheeling money flow into Ontario that Ford supports wholeheartedly. The best buddies relationship between Ford and Carney is in plain view, as is the behind the curtains pettiness of who doesn’t call who in the Conservative hierarchy.

One last lingering odorous stench: Poilievre had a commanding lead in the national polls for months leading up to the Trudeau resignation. Calling a unnecessary, self serving Ontario election right in the middle of the federal government vacuum and Liberal leadership race undermined any chance for the federal Conservatives to get any traction in the media.

I'll never vote Fird. Two faced back stabbed. I voted Ontario New Blue. Poilievre all the way! I'll pull membership in Conservatve Feds. I'll vote an independent or ccp and split the vite or I'll spoil my ballot. Doesn't matter. Elections are cheated now too!
