Interesting chat.. sir john was right .. we only need our glasses half full. But the theory about generational divide..boomers got what they have because if ww11 and gas and oil. Neither of which we have now, so yes its a financial let down for gen z and mililiums. Sort of.

They are in a kind of limbo.. we have gas and oil but our current govt ..has the "who cares " attitude about them.. and the war.. dont need it..but boomers had to rebuild our countries.. all cultures, here..worked .

Nothing is free and no one works for nothing. We have not heard any plans from our govt that is inspiring to our younger people...nothing.to make plans to get excited about tomorrow.. until they fix that.. another, nothing burger..

Great Brian. !!!

Alberta and Saskatchewan have both…separation sentiment AND a larger percentage of younger persons. I hope the federalists keep dismissing how close we are to division.

I have just finished reading Breaking Point, a very well written and insightful book - all the points touched on and opinions offered are most relevant in todays Canada. The authors offer solutions - all common sense stuff - we just need a national leader with the strength and conviction of carry through with them. The Zoomers are a lost tribe of a sort - maybe a year of National Service might provide direction and a sense of national and personal pride.

Interesting Chat. I am a Baby Boomer and woman, and I agree we are at a decision point in Canada. I am tired of people blaming Baby boomers and women for supporting L and MC. Maybe in eastern Canada but no one I know male or female would ever support the L and MC. The reality is the L and MC are pitting one group against another, indigenous needs against other Cdns, and pushing their fear mongering agenda with no regard for looking after all Cdns across the country. The irrational agenda and thinking must stop or I fear the west (where I live) will separate because they have just had enough of giving and giving and giving without any respect and anything in return. (You have to come to western Cda to actually understand that frustration level. And the LIES about the oil sands and the oil and gas sector -- if you have never visited the Oil Sands then you have no right to criticize it -- it is a MINING operation, no different then any other mining operation. The lies about climate crisis and Cda being at fault is just irrational and not true. If they take in the full picture rather than one component, Cda is NET Negative. Yet the L Agenda pushes to punish Cdns and take advantage of kind hearted Cdns with fear mongering. To me this past 10 years is to blame for the final fracturing of the country and so tired of the crap.

One thing for certain, is that person? Is not mark carney. He demonstrates daily that he doesn’t even recognize the people in Canada. The actual tax paying (robbed) people.

My volunteer service is for octogenarians and they have the old mindset that the Liberals, are the Liberals of old. I would love to have you gentlemen appear on the Zoomer show to wake up the retired & elderly to the fact, their Liberal vote is causing Canada to crumble.

Canada's fracture point seems to fall along attitudinal lines. The people who dutifully line up for their 7th Covid jab are on a different planet from those who completely distrust mRNA vaccines. It falls along similar lines with either supporting or detesting Tamara Lich and the Convoy. Essentially, those who distrust government and feel the country is declining vs those who maintain their faith in our institutions. More recently, the widely opposed opinions on Danielle Smith reflect the divide. Freedom fighter or traitor. Disagreement isn't new but the depth of feeling and hostility is troubling.

Brian, you've already recommended this book few weeks ago, so I got it from the library. Just got started, but can already tell - it's a very good read!

Gotta say, I read the book. Some of it was okay but there was a lot of central Canadian condescension, using “manosphere, bro, and Joe Rogan” with an implied eye roll. No acknowledgement of how DEI has disenfranchised young white men in particular and what ails them. Instead a slur against their culture. I wonder how much Joe Rogan either one of the authors has listened to or other “mansosphere “ pod casters like Chris Williams, Andrew Huberman, Diary of a CEO? Not much I imagine.

I don't blame the younger generation for losing hope. The future debt load alone will crush them.
