We’ve all heard of the ArriveCan app, what the Conservatives call the ArriveScam. A two-person company given control of a highly controversial app in the middle of the pandemic that helped control who got into Canada and who didn’t.
The app cost millions, but it didn’t work.
Later it came out that the company contracted to build the app, just acted as a general contractor and didn’t do the work themselves, but pocketed a good deal of the money. Now, a report from the Auditor General on the millions in contracts handed to the firm since the Liberals took office in 2015.
So, the Conservatives want the government to try and get the money back and have tabled a motion in the House. That’s what they were asking PM Mark Carney about during Question Period on Wednesday.
