CBC as Canada's fact checker is a dangerous idea...

Plus, the reality on crime and the truth on unity among our politicians.

CBC as Canada’s fact checker?

Please.

That’s a horrible idea, but’s it’s one that the Carney Liberals are clearly committed to. You can read about that in my column for the Toronto Sun complete with links to all the source material.

You may have been hearing that crime is down.

Yes and no.

I was writing about the Toronto crime stats this week in relation to a a promise by mayoral candidate Brad Bradford to hire 1,000 more cops by the end of his first mandate if he is elected mayor. Those cops are needed, as I detail in the column, because despite a massive increase in population over the last 15 years, we have the same number of cops.

As for crime being up or down, are you just comparing to last year, or the year before when crime was really high? If you compare over a 10 year average, crime is definitely still up. That’s the problem over and over again, a slight dip in crime and progressives say everything is fine, but they ignore that it’s worse over time.

Finally, don’t believe the claim that Canada’s premiers are united in how to deal with Donald Trump, nor that they all back Carney’s plan even if they know what it is.

Here’s our editorial on that.
