Why not improve the regulatory and assessment process (remove uneccessary barriers, including FN consultation barriers) and let the proponent figure out if the project is worthwhile taking further. PP is correct - remove the barriers and let current and future investors decide the merits of making a major development happen. I challenge the reader to look at the past 10 year chart of the Canadian dollar versus any other currency - it doesn't look good. Canada needs a serious wake-up call in my opinion.

Did anyone that is not a watcher of the mainstream media or who is not a Liberal pawn think that any of these announcements were going to be earth shattering ? I call those hard core Liberal voters pawns because that is really what they have allowed themselves to be. What is it all going to accomplish for the prosperity of our nation ? What I don’t get is Carneys motivation to do as little as possible ? It’s his endgame I just do not understand ? How does he think he will make out in the end by accomplishing as little as he possibly can ? When it’s time for action - and he well speaks of action - he does nothing. He dithers, he obfuscates, he makes countess photo ops with fake workers all wearing brand new hard hats and work clothing- which leads me to believe they are all plants, and then delivers nothing. He told Alberta that by Grey Cup Week he would have a major announcement on a pipeline, and he delivered nothing. He told Canada that we would have a trade deal with the US by the end of July and then he stopped talking to Trump ( while telling Canadians the talks were progressing and he and Trump were in constant contact - they actually did not speak again until October). Is he really just all about making sure he steers projects towards Brookfield, towards projects that he or his rich friends are invested in and to hell with the rest of the country because he is not going to stay as PM for long ? I just don’t get what he is in this for other than that, is it ego, status ? I wonder how long it’s going to take before those middle of the road Liberal voters start to question all of this as well. It’s going to be the affordability issue that will break the Liberals back.
