Meanwhile back in Prince Rupert BC he was telling the fake CFN that there would be no pipelines. The Alberta Sovereignty act also allows Alberta to ignore Ottawa if they think it is a bad deal for Alberta (yet to be tested).
Over the holidays, a Jewish friend told me she voted for the Liberals. This after lamenting, over many many months, of feeling scared for herself and her children. When I asked why she voted Liberal, even though the party/government is basically (as i see it) antisemitic (which she had agreed on in many discussions over the past 2years), she said she thought Carney was the best person to ensure a healthy economy for her children. Although she did acknowledge it was a mistake to vote Liberal, i found myself wondering what kind of cognitive dissonance would make a person vote for a government she thought was an existential threat to her and her children. Brian's story made me think of that conversation. I feel very sad and worried for the future of my young relatives.

Canada legally committed to the 6.1% tariff on 49,000 cars. China only offered a non-binding suggestion. We just traded a signed cheque for a verbal "maybe."
