More is unfolding in Carney's actions. It feels to me like he's more and more a puppet of china influence.... I don't like it and there isn't a Canadian that voted for this closeness to Canada's most dangerous enemy. If Carney calls our current situation thriving he needs to resign in disgrace.

Karen Benz's avatar

Right Mike guy, he doesn't have a majority.

Dan Anders's avatar

Any bets Carney calls an election BEFORE the USMCA negotiations???

Jack urton's avatar

Just bloody do it. Canada has enough evidence to push him out. It’s all being gathered.

The Mike Guy's avatar

We need to bide our time..... he's gathering rope to hang himself..... he just needs a little more.

Karen Benz's avatar

Omg hope you're right Mike guy.

Dave Tambling's avatar

I wish he would call an election and let's stay on them this time, pay close attention to what they are doing and make absolutely certain that there is NO outside interference. I'm sure that's a pipe dream but if we aren't vigilant this time, the game is over and we lose.

Good advice Thanks!

You might get decent odds on that!

Carney’s quote:

“Canada doesn’t live because of the United States”.

Trump said; Canada “Only” lives because of the United States.

So in reality, what Mark’s saying is, we don’t ONLY live because of them.

But we DO live because of them.

We watched their movies 📽️and TV shows .

We snowbird to their 🌞 🇺🇸in the middle of Canada’s deadly🥶winters!

We love their powerful U$ Dollar 💵that helps our economy grow.

ETC….

Do I need say more?🤣😂🤣

Most of us know the truth. Without the US Canada is a wasteland. We may just find out soon enough. THEN let the Liberals cry foul.

I love the taxpayer acknowledgement. We should have an acknowledgement to the people who built this country through hard work and pure determination !

Understanding Carney, without considering his business connections, will not get you close to understanding his actions.

We must look beyond his speechwriters.

Jerry Grant's avatar

Speeches are his only legacy so far.

Dave Tambling's avatar

He can speak as much as he wants but actions speak louder than words. The ACTIONS are the damaging part.

Penny Leifson's avatar

Sadly, his speeches cement his following of googley-eyed, resume-admiring seniors and others brainwashed by Liberal owned CBC and the rest of the heavily subsidized MSM. Post media does better most of the time.

Wow. So you are an obvious Leftwing Woke DEI supporting Parasite.

Geez how can you tell Scott. Definitely an unhinged lefties. And they talk about right leaning people.

Mr Lilley save your ink. Carney is a deceitful disingenuous jerk.

Trump is straight up. Take it or leave it. So Many suffer from TDS !

And Trump is right. Thanks to America Canada does ok. Less ok since the liberals screwed the pooch.

Unless Ms Batra is paying to comment on Carney? Save your ink

Carney talks a lot but doesn’t say much. That’s not surprising. What’s surprising is that so many Canadians approve and trust him. If so, my hope for Canada is declining fast.

Dave Tambling's avatar

There are so many that are baffled by bullshit. Sure, Carney has great speechwriters, but he says nothing of importance to the taxpayers of Canada. We are going to regret not paying more attention to what happens during a Federal election here.

shelley carrington's avatar

Carney personal vendetta against the 🇺🇸 has gotten in the way of making good decisions for Canada ! All I see is his personal advancement for Brookfield & making sure he is well looked after for his future endeavours ! I don’t think he gives one whit about Canada , his legacy of the WEF & Globalist elite seems to be his priority

That is a great piece, thanks for sharing! "Dependence wrapped in resentment" describes the mentality of the bulk of Canadians perfectly!

When I was younger (oh, those halcyon days of the 80s to early 2000s) I parroted some of that passive aggressive US-bashing myself. I laughed heartily at Rick Mercer's "Talking to Americans". I wasn't really aware of being resentful, it seemed more like good-natured ribbing. And, in part, it was. It is ok to make fun of your friends and neighbours from time to time, they josh us, too. And I hope I never genuinely believed myself superior to them (ok, I have to admit I did a little). But many Canadians seriously do and as I aged I saw that more and more and realized it actually comes from a place of deep-seated inferiority and envy. And in this time it's come to a very ugly head that is proving very destructive only to ourselves. That resentment bred by an inability to face up to that dependence is literally causing us to commit self-harm as a nation.

Anyway, I don't have anything profound or wise to end off with, I just really appreciated the piece and that particular line resonated strongly with me.

I grew up in canada in the 50's and 60's. And yes, i was definitely "indoctrinated" with the belief that canada was superior. Since i have studied the american revolution and the loyalists, and several american/canadian skirmishes and wars since the revolution, i have come to understand the canadian idea of resentment towards the usa....it's so pervasive that canadians do not even see it in themselves....i've lived in the usa for 45 years...i spend a great deal of time in canada....and sadly, canadians are truly deceived. If you think canada is so great, why do you put up with your absolutely terrible health care? Your indoctrinated education? Suppression of your speech? Total injustice and crime? The maltreatment of the indigenous people? The homelessness and massive drug use? Massive immigration that is straining every single aspect of your lives? I could go on, but you can fill in the rest of this message....and you might say: well usa has those problems too...yes, and we elected someone who wants to address all of it.

Canadians did not vote to be handed to the CCP wolves in Chyna. We need to reinforce our connections with our closest neighbor to the South. We have too much in common and our trade across our border is quite entangled and historic.

We need to rid ourselves of this globalist puppet Con Carney

Liz Innes's avatar

Maybe if you bothered to visit Canada once in a while you would see that we are not thriving. The Liberal government of the last 11 years has destroyed this county: 6 million Canadians without a doctor, 23,000 died in 2025 waiting for treatment, millions lining up at the food bank, immigrants being preferentially treated over Canadians, no affordable housing, people drowning in debt, standard of living collapsing while the feds send billions to other countries.

I sense carney is becoming a worry for Canadians. Everyday the news is full of his shots against Trump, the Canadian ambassador from China wanting to hurray up the ev deal, and being dropped from the board of peace. Maybe carney needs a rest after crossing all those time zones.

Tomas's avatar

It was just a year ago or so that we were told flying the Canadian flag (or any sort of patriotism) was a mark of the extreme right! Good luck fighting the US now that we have destroyed our economy, have no way to get our resources to market and we have nobody willing to serve in our diverse military after a decade of replacing Canadians with millions of migrants.

Michael Law Cobb's avatar

Carney said, “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.” And then he subsequently got himself (AND CANADA!) kicked away from the table (the Peace Board).

He/Canada could have had some positive influence in Gaza and abroad. Instead, Canada is increasingly ostracized as it continues its economic decline as a failing post-national state. Absolutely asinine.

gordon Ballard's avatar

He is absolutely right this phenomenon is sweeping the country, it is being taught to children at an early age therefore it becomes reality to them then universities teach the same rhetoric, so to upcoming generations this is historically correct when in reality it is a mantra perpetrated on western civilization by the new woke thinking individuals who think that this is the is the way it should be!
