I like Pierre and I would vote for him but the Liberals and the media don’t give him much room to succeed. I am shocked with how many people don’t like him, I don’t think they really know him and I believe it is all the press. What ever happened to good journalism!

There is no one as stupid as the average Canadian. Canada as a country is on a fast track to oblivion. No one to blame but ourselves. And that's a good thing.

Barryonthefly's avatar

I do not understand my country. If I just disagreed that would be fine. The motivation, and almost joy, at economic suicide is incomprehensible

Politics is like sports with no rules.. dog eat dog lately. Ruthless like Trump. Im not blaming him because we speak for ourselves. But it doesng help the negativity he pours over Canada. Jmo

It only solidifies exactly why Alberta has to leave. We are not like the East in any way and it’s obvious we have zero say as no one would elect us in Ottawa. Thanks for clarifying this for all Albertans. This matters and must be shared.

Honourrite's avatar

I do wonder what most Albertans are talking about these days. But Im just a Manitoban.

I cant help but notice, regarding the renaming of places, that most major routes in Winnipeg, for instance, have received aboriginal names. On a road trip across the west, you could always tell if you were passing by or through a First Nations reservation. No signage needed. And that is bloody sad.

Exactly what I am thinking. Hope the polling is wrong

Brian, I don't know how Conservative can have any chance to win against the consolidated left. If 60% of the voters are progressives of some sort, and now all they under Carney's umbrella... Is it really Pierre's fault?

Lawrence's avatar

How can Pierre win with the main media smearing him continually… seems rather criminal.

Carney is a disaster: immigration, crime, bail laws, land give away to natives, He moved his company to USA, his home is in USA, his family is there??

Maybe he knows what his WEF approach will do to his wealth as well.

Pierre’s podcasts really highlights his approach/platform and also shows clearly that he is a good family man.

I think he should go down to the USA and meet with the Trump team to show what he really is.

Honourrite's avatar

Lawrence, I've always found Pierre to be smart. Intelligent and a winner with common sense. I cannot imagine why any of my fellow countrymen/women would fall for an old liar? Is it the cool aid? No really, what is going on?

Liberal Mark elbow slogan from the tariffs invading our sovereignty at its southern borders

Wokeness and DEI minded snowflakes would meltdown even at the sight of a great glass of Kentucky bourbon, as they struggled to dump out a oh so heavy bottle of that darn crown royal

If we didn’t have liberal children in Ottawa teaching the toddler voters to think with them elbows instead of their mind that god gave male and females at birth

Time for Canada to get back to normalcy pre 2015 liberal pandemic

K9 Tracker's avatar

The correspondence the Liberal Party pumps out to supporters, would have one believe we are living in sunny times with a great economy, homes are being built, industry is growing, and the Conservatives are sore lying losers.

It's easy to see why they don't believe the truth, they believe what the party says to them.

Reality somehow doesn't exist for them or accepting it would require a painful inward understanding that they've been dooped by a naked emperor.

With the small view of corruption that we know exists in Canada, its more like an iceberg - we only see the small portion above the waterline. Not the monstrous amount below.

How can we put any faith in our current voting system, considering Trudeau stacked the deck with the redrafting to multiply former single seats.

I don't know what Carney's accomplished since he was confirmed as prime minister, but **Coffee and Covid** listed what Trump has accomplished this term. (We're not sure at this point about the Middle East part).

I realize much of this may not mean too much to those who don't follow US politics but it certainly shows what a conservative government can do in a year or so and sets and exaple for Canada's governments.

Do we have a comparable list?

The problem is that Canadians are too lazy to properly inform themselves. Absolute sheep that can’t see past the mainstream narrative. Carney is a conman and Canadians have been willfully duped. It’s utterly pathetic and we are getting what we deserve.

Verna Scott's avatar

Liberals are open big spenders, forward thinkers...no wonder Carney gathers so many followers, he never talks about money matters.its all pie in the sky and if it gets too hot in the kitchen he flys off and never deals with any of it. Ever. The reluctant boyfriend. Its how he operates.

Trump feels that too.he doesnt like it, but Carney has a country to run, weather we like how he does it or not. Trump cant control him either. So...hello Lake America.. we can hope Trump is. Gone in 2028.. please...

Pierre is confrontational, but as you say gets little media time. Hes all about facts. Many dont like the truth.

It must be depressing for Pierre to put forward many suggestions, znd Carney adopt. Pierre says nothing. Snd he wont until election time. Carney adopts his ideas because he has none of his own. People see it,

know it and still vote Carney. Like Pierre's not there .sorry long.

You keep it real Brian.

Tks

Lord Chancellor's avatar

So when is Pierre going to blame China for these defeats? 🙄

Perhaps it is time to look in the mirror and grow up 🖕

KZwick's avatar

Doug Fraud sure isn't helping the CPC when he is in Komrade Karneys camp.

Pierre, whether he knows it or not, appears to be holidaying in Elbownia as well. Why even address the Lake America comment or the 51st state troll at all? He fell for it, hook line and sinker. This does not set him apart from the Communists in Ottawa at all.

Kanadastan's Right Wing belongs to the same bird as its Left Wing. Why vote at all?

Allen Dick's avatar

It seems to me that main Pierre's problem is that he doesn't *sound* or act prime ministerial. He has spent too much time in opposition and he's really good at that, but I don't think people can visualize him as prime minister. Although the issues matter to a percentage of the population the majority go by impressions. He also doesn't talk like a conservative so that costs him. Trying to please everyone pleases no one.

Clayton Oberg's avatar

Brian believes someone else should lead the Conservatives and if we disagree he claims he's not the journalist we should be following. Well I disagree, but I will continue to take what I can from Brian's reporting. I don't regard politics as a sport as some do. I imagine those who do would have the Conservatives changing their policies without regard for their effectiveness just to win. That's the approach Doug Ford has taken as far as I can tell. The only suggestion I would have in the "do what it takes to win" column is to make it clear that a Conservative government under his leadership will maintain current media subsidies. It's bad policy but what’s worse is a Canadian media knowing that they owe 30 to 50 percent of their salaries to the Liberal party. With the collapse of the NDP and with a media beholden to the Liberals I can’t imagine we'll ever see another Conservative government. In the meantime Poilievre is the best we've got.
