In case there are still any citizens that don't understand this, Carney always pivots to an American slam, when he has no answer to a legitimate question. I assure you, that the question was not misunderstood. It's an elegant dodge, when you can disparage a third party, and know that a majority of citizens are nodding positively, and forgetting that he didn't give an answer, in their shared hatred.

I definitely agree with the majority of your comment; however, there was nothing elegant about that dodge. It was a classic Pecksniffian Carney “Who do you think you are to question the great resume, you nobody? I’ll show you! Baaaaaad, baaaaad Trump!”

Michael Woods's avatar

Maybe elegance IS a stretch, but it was certainly effective in distracting and deflecting the attention of a majority of his audience. It is in that success, that I misused the term.

I understand that and agree. I concede your choice of words is entirely yours. It is not my intent to be argumentative. My opposition to the use of elegant is based on the misapprehension that Carney’s arrogance and smugness in this or any of his other dodges and bullspit, successful as they may be, is elegant. Use of the word elegant tends to put a positive spin on Carney’s ignorant, negative, non-answer response.

I understand and agree with you.

My puppy just chewed my glasses and it turns out asylum seekers get vision care covered in Canada. How does a Canadian with a SIN claim refugee status or asylum seeker status? Just askin'...for a puppy

Sadly I had some friends visiting from Ontario this week. They used my ski condo for a week for free and then shit all over Alberta and how awful we are. This is the way it rolls. You can’t get mad at Albertans for being upset.

Prohibition ended in Ontario in 1927. The same Act ending Prohibition set up the LCBO.

So now, nearly a century later, is there any reason why government should be maintaining a monopoly on liquor sales... other than to keep prices high, to keep unionized workers employed, and to enable ridiculous publicity stunts for idiot politicians?

Carole Saville's avatar

It has been my experience, based on some of the trolls on the NP comments, that most people don't want the truth about Albertas concerns because it ruins the liberal narrative.

CARNEY sure dumped a truck load of lies and he knows it what a evil disgusting liar.

Ford has been acting like a complete fool. What is he trying to do. He likely got told by Carney go make some noise. Attacking Trump on CNN is so childish so wrong. Liberals play games Ford being one of them. Carney said he was the only one who could make a deal with Trump. Almost a year in and nothing. Canadians should be making noise but nothing. CBC/MSM need to get out of the way and do something news worthy rather than their propaganda.

Daaamn! That was spicy, Brian! I liked it. And very true.

Come on Brian call a spade a spade, con-man Carney as we all know is a two faced lying rat.

Carney and his incompetent caucus are destroying everything that is left of Canada after Trudeau spent ten years wringing the life out of this country.

On separation and national unity, are the central and eastern Canadians who say they love Alberta please don’t go, are they the same people who keep telling Albertans to shut up and stop being such whiners? Just wondering!

Marg's avatar

Aanndd they will do the blame game all the way to the bitter end.

Marg's avatar

By the way did y’all know that Canada charges 300% tarrifs on stuff coming from Europe, and also a ton of restrictions, meanwhile they have better quality. So them blaming Trump… check out your own back yard Libs!

Carney and team have made a mockery out of what used to be democracy. The fake smiles and applause by all of the Liberals sitting in the house will turn into cries and tears when and if they have the g u t s to call an election and are booted out of office. Any Canadian who supports this Liberal farce of government needs to have their head examined, now! What a tragedy for this country, we have so much but this FAKE government ensures none of it will be for Canadians. What is wrong with that picture??

I am curious if any of the elbows up crowd will be annoyed at Carneys lack of having an answer for the questions about asylum seekers getting better health care than us.

Its really pathetic that our government allowed this to happen , and then they act as though “ nothing to see here “ ,

Great post Brian , keep it up ;)

The "elbows up" bunch, all staunch Liberals who only see ONE party on any ballot, the rest are invisible, just love it when Carney or any other Liberal obfuscates and slides away from answering an Opposition question. In their view, it a big victory to NOT answer a question, and the more Conservatives get frustrated with this method, the more Liberal supporters cheer. I know lots of Liberals, and they see things about 180 degrees differently than we do. Imo, it is appalling that anyone in Canada gets better health care than the ordinary citizen. This is one item I trust Polievre to fix asap IF he ever wins government, which I am beginning to doubt.

YMS's avatar

None more frustrating to watch than F P Champagne! His voice alone is enough to send you up the wall but the way he flippantly avoids answering anything as if he were above any accountability. They forget they work for us and not the other way around. I can't wait to see them turfed out of office.

YMS's avatar

The elbows up brigade doesn’t care about facts. They run around scared of their own shadows, hide under Carney’s skirt, watch the CBC and live in fear of a conservative government because Rosie told them Poilievre is mean and scary!

Brian's avatar

All the while stealing us blind! Now that is the real scary part.

Penny Leifson's avatar

Unfortunately, I expect the majority of the media and the Lieberal talking heads to play it as though it’s Poilievre who isn’t being truthful, along with the usual that he’s just like Trump, and that Canada (under the Liberals, of course) is a far superior country to the USA - none of which is true.

Dan Vandenbrink's avatar

I still cant believe that the elbows up crowd think Poilievre is in bed with Trump , and yet if you tell them that Carneys family lives in the states and he is 94% invested in the states they stare at you like deer in the head lights,

don morris's avatar

And everyone refuses to acknowledge that Trump and Carney are old business partners from 2018 when Carney bailed out Jared Kushner to the tune of a billion dollars. Trump doesn't forget people who do him personal favors.

Penny Leifson's avatar

Agree. I would add that they appear incapable of logic, common sense, or independent thought. (Actually, that may not be an addition, it’s more like saying what you said using different words. 😊)

Ron Albertson's avatar

True, Canada is not America. Nor is it Europe. Or China. Or anywhere else but Canada. So, the point is to not answer the question, or face the issue. This man is proving as tiresome as the one he replaced.

Christine Barnett's avatar

Has anyone noticed that the global democratic nations have “loony toons”running and ruining our countries??? Or am I hallucinating? How did we allow this lunacy?

gordon Ballard's avatar

A typical response by Carney, trashing trump for the benefit of the woke elbows up crowd, then making the same innuendos about Conservatives being America lovers. What is not said is the fact for all Carneys bluster and b.s. is that the U.S. is and will always be our biggest trading partner, and if Carney would get off his high horse and admit that then go and work a deal with the orange man like he said he could and would. He is a phony!

Every morning we I rise out of bed, hoping for good news. The Leafs lose, there is more snow in the forecast, and the news is extolling the liberals, and carney is giving shots to Trump in a presser. The only good news was the US beating Canada in the Olympics, and seeing the carneys crying in their beer.
