Bruce Arthur is easily the most biased actor in Canadian journalism.
He is not so much a journalist, as facts are always suborned to ideology, as he is a Pom-Pom shaker, posing for any woke, progressive quarterback he can find.
Here is a Wikipedia story of Ed Murrow. He was best known for his influential role in radio and television journalism, particularly during World War II and the early years of television. What a contrast to Brucey, There are people who write the truth and others who make up negative bile, which has little or no influence in smart people's changing their mind.
CBC could never have been anything other than propaganda for the government that funds it.
That does not, of course, mean that all its programming is bad. Why should it all be bad? Half the secret of effective propaganda is to produce a sufficient amount of good stuff that people keep coming back for more and the propaganda is slid in incidentally until they can no longer assess events in the light of reality.
The reality is that Canada is going downhill fast. Bellowing "Elbows all the way up!" and dumping on Trump change nothing. Carney's Liberals, with their new majority, know this of course but they know something else that cancels out any consequences: Carney need only keep blathering big promises to keep the Boomers happy. It actually doesn't matter if nothing gets done.
The new censorship legislation can be leveraged to prevent the rise of any serious critiques. But in any event, the problems are now too far advanced, in my view, for any realistic hope that a Conservative government (if one ever gets elected again) can change anything. For one thing, 75% of the Conservatives are probably Liberals lite or they wouldn't be elected. It's sewn up now, I think.
Bruce Arthur is literally a contrarian indicator. I don't think I have ever seen him have a decent take on any issue.

Andrew Coyne is a close second.
Andrew Coyne is in his own separate category.
He is the master of slithery, greasy, fact-free journalism.
😂😂 I stopped taking him seriously when he failed the binary choice in 2015.
