Soccer is such a great sport! Everyone has played some level of soccer in their lifetime. I remember being in a soccer class in fourth grade, and my team enrolled for a tournament. Unfortunately, my team came dead last and I sucked at it. Despite not being good at playing soccer, I enjoy watching it. Childhood memories aside, I hope for the best in tomorrow’s game! Spending public money on sports entertainment is wrong. This includes the CBC blowing MILLIONS on NHL broadcasting rights (although it has been recently cancelled) as well as the CFL.
The coverage of amateurs athletics should be supported. Apart from the obvious benefit to encourage youth to participate in local sports events and organizations, we need to promote healthy interaction within our communities and national interests. Other than participation physically, there are so many off shoot opportunities within the sporting world.
Plus, it promotes compatibility and healthy competition.
And you are correct. CBC will no longer have “dibs” on Hockey Night in Canada. I initially had an issue with that….but since I’m an avid sports fan, there ARE much better sports coverage options. No need for government in pro sports.

Please know 3/4 TRUE BLUERS💙 are glad the World Cup can show a different hospitality from the States where sunglasses inside😎 are appropriate until midterms. 🤢
I don’t care about the World Cup. It’s a corrupt organization. I am trying to stay afloat in Canada as I see everything get more expensive and our PM flying all over the place to watch soccer. Doesn’t he know that’s putting carbon into the atmosphere?
My first soccer coach was a Scot named “Coach Bill”.
His accent was so thick we thought he was having a stroke.

My granddaughter plays rugby in school. Pretty rough. They go on school tournaments. She likes it.
I feel exhausted with so much tv tome for tgese games however.
