Poilievre goes on Rogan and Carney moves too slow...
Plus Doug Ford on shooting home invaders and Toronto cops following up on social media posts.
Pierre Poilievre just made a big move. He went on The Joe Rogan Experience, the most popular podcast in the world.
“Fought for Canadian workers and Canadian interests on the world’s biggest podcast,” Poilievre posted to his X account.
The episode was recorded today and should be out before the weekend.
There were unsuccessful attempts in the past to get Poilievre on with Rogan and on other big podcasts like The Nelk Boys. I remember before and during the election, and even before Trudeau resigned and things flipped, hearing from people reaching out to me to find out why Poilievre wouldn’t say yes.
So this is a big and bold more.
This comes after meetings in Detroit, in Austin, Houston and soon New York.
Carney is moving too slow says top business executive…
Mark Carney is moving too slowly to give Canada’s economy the boost it needs. That’s not just my view, though I do share it, it’s the view of Francois Poirier, the CEO of TC Energy.
Speaking with Bloomberg, Poirier called on the Carney government to give a six-month timeline for approving major energy infrastructure projects.
Of course, instead of doing that, we are one year into Carney being prime minister and he’s launched bureaucracy - the Major Projects Office and Build Canada Homes. No major projects that weren’t already underway are being built and on the homes side we are building fewer of them.
Poirier said that Canada is competing for international investment and our regulatory system isn’t keeping up. He pointed to TC Energy’s Southeast Gateway pipeline project in Mexico which received approval in about seven months.
That isn’t happening in Canada.
“We’re competing for international customers to deliver them LNG. We want to diversify beyond the US, we don’t get to pick the timelines,” Poirier said.
He told Bloomberg that there is a tremendous opportunity for Canada to deliver LNG to Asia.
“Canada has the resources, has the know-how, and I firmly believe that Canada can become the largest exporter of LNG to Asia,” Poirier said.
Sadly, we aren’t thinking big, acting bigger and moving at speeds not seen in generations. That may have been Carney’s promise but he’s not delivering.
Doug Ford applauds shooting home invaders…
Ontario’s premier went further than any other politician would when he applauded a home owner who shot a man that had broken into his home in the middle of the night.
“Congratulations. Yeah, I’m glad you shot the guy,” Ford said.
I wrote about this in my column for the Toronto Sun and said while the experts will sneer, plenty of Canadians will nod along in agreement. That’s even more likely when you find out more about the perp.
This woman is not a free speech martyr…
On Wednesday morning I started being sent a video of a woman being visited by a pair of Toronto cops.
The way it was being portrayed, you would think that Nicole Pearen Miske was a free speech martyr and that the cops were the equivalent of British cops who arrest people for “offensive” Facebook posts.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Skip this next part if you don’t like offensive language because there will be plenty of it.
This is the exchange between Miske and the cops.
This is the exchange that resulted in the cops paying her a visit to offer a caution.
I go through the whole story in my column for the Sun including detailing how this is not free speech, it’s a criminal code violation and she’s lucky it was just a caution.
Whatever you think of Carney, or any politician, threats are not okay.

Miske was rude. Very. Probably just saw her grocery bill.
Before you jump On the hate speech bandwagon remember this: Canadians are being continually lied to ,and deceived by the carney liberals. Eventually it will get more than rude if the economy continues to collapse. Folks losing their jobs, homes and futures may get ugly.
Politicians are insulated from reality.
I agree with you about Nicole Pearen Miske; wow, what an example of "how not to interact with the police!" She's an embarrassment to herself and all Canadians. In addition, IMO an antisemite. For me there is no room between declaring one to be "a zionist scumbag" and being an antisemite....but that's just me. No, I am not Jewish. And no, I am not a Carney supporter in the least. But Nicole is a pathetic example of a Canadian....absolute low-class, low-information, low-IQ trailer trash. Yes, I know what a trailer-trash redneck is; nothing like a true redneck (native Albertan here...)
