Patrick Brown getting death threats, under police protection...

Brampton's mayor is under police watch after threats upon his life.

My Sun colleague Jack Boland was out at a Peel Police news conference on the bust of an organized crime ring on Tuesday when other news broke out. Patrick Brown, the Mayor of Brampton and former Conservative leadership candidate, was facing death threats.

Peel Regional Police now have him in police custody. You can read Jack’s full report at the link, but here’s a quote from Brown.

“I feel safer today than I probably did a week or two ago,” Brown, who received the threat in late June, told media in the front foyer of the police headquarters.

“This is not the first time I have received a death threat. I did so a number of years ago and I’m sure it won’t be the last.”
