Happy Easter!

The meaning and origin of most things are forgotten because most people have stopped caring about the reasons, they just want the celebration. Thank you for the reminder!

When I was single, I decided to learn to cook. I lived above a Dominion Store, so shopped there. Every week they offered a cook book from Woman's day. The L book was all about Lent and cooking for spring. They offered recipes with eggs, and chocolate cakes, and told the story of lent meaning spring, which was a time of producing and new life. After marriage, we lived in the country, and there was a country store down the road that had baby chicks every spring. Happy Easter Brian, and thanks for the interesting story without politics.

Used to see on network tv Ben Hur and Quo Vadis (music by Miklos Rozsa) before Easter. Radio Canada used to show Jesus of Nazareth, a beautiful film. Nowadays don't even get the story of the birth of Christ at Christmas.

True...Only Christian Churches carry the messages of Jesus Christ and many have been burned to the ground for teaching the Gospel. The Anglican Church - a 5 minute walk from my home, has not rung its bells or opened its doors for a few years now...it was vandalized and then closed.

Yes, it's the Church where my husband and me were married and where I was the Envelope Secretary for many years and wrote many sermons. It was closed after vandals broke in and lit fire to the meeting / lunch room in the basement and stole the silver service items.

Thank you for sharing Brian. As a Christian I had never associated the Easter egg with the tomb. Happy Easter to you and your family. Blessings.

OK, I guess I will have some chocolate today. But I will leave my golden Easter Bunny chocolate with its brown bow and golden bell sitting on my desk...and then back in the fridge. My bunny came a long way from its home with a best before date of August 2026.
