Do not

care at all what Trudeau is doing. He just needs to fade to black. We have a mess that will take decades to clean up. Do not want to hear that twits name.

... and one more thing. Here's a measure of how much I detest the name. This is very petty of me, I know, I just can't help myself.

There's a company that manufactures and sells kitchen-related products. They're called "Trudeau". They look pretty decent but I cannot force myself to even pick one up and look at it, let alone buy it. I wonder if there's anyone else out there who does the same.

Agreed. Times ten. I take pains, and go to the extra effort of referring to him as He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. That's a lot of difficult typing, but worth it to never see his name again. And I wish the powers-that-be would also eliminate his vacuous face from all forms of media.

Putin bashing is old. Just like “ orange man bad”

Look at Russian history and then temper your criticism with reality.

One of the most incredible statements made was by minister Jolie who stated that supporting Ukraine was necessary for “ a regime change in Russia”

Millions have died in a proxy war that really should not have happened.

Blaming Putin because he invaded Russian speaking Ukrainian territory is simplistic.

War is wrong

What could have stopped this war from happening?

Examine that historically and perhaps you could reach a different conclusion.

Apply the same principles to the Israel Gaza war

War is wrong

I don't argue with much of this, though Putin is still an evil man.

True. Russia is a different place. The citizens have a very high sense of national security. They also, as a group, are content with Putins leadership. Check out Konstantin Kisin on Trigonometry.

That said, I compare Butts and his relationship to Carney and the laurentian elites , to Rasputin.

“Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin was a Russian mystic and faith healer who gained significant influence at the Russian Imperial court in the early 20th century, particularly with the family of Tsar Nicholas II. He was known for his purported ability to heal the hemophiliac heir to the throne, Alexei, and his controversial presence in the royal family's inner circle. Rasputin's influence and scandalous behavior ultimately contributed to his assassination in 1916. “

As always, I appreciate your writings. With respect to the Confederation bridge, when you build something of that magnitude, then expect to not have tolls that keep it maintained, (I am assuming the capital cost is long paid for) that is simply unrealistic. Highways are expensive, typical bridges even more so. A 21km long state of the art bridge will never be cost free. So the toll decrease is a feel good. If I was there, I'd appreciate the day-to-day savings but the reality is that the bridge costs will now come from some other Federal account, and likely add to the country's debt.

While Putin has done many illegal things. Assassinating dissidents abroad etc. He’s an easy “mark”

The wests biggest problem are the “Putjns” within our own administrations/countries.

Many western politicians are bought by Bid Ag, Big Pharma, The Big NeoCon War machine and let’s face it by big billionaires who donate to their campaigns and political parties one every country (Gates’ and Soros’s of the underworld)

Weston’s, McCains and Irving’s and those in the elite Laurentian class are all part of the problem looking down on us serfs.

We need to stop pointing the finger at overseas oligarchs & dictators and look at the many fingers pointing back at us and clean our own house.

With no true accountability for any of the many many transgressions of the last few decades from 911 Afghanistan Iraq Syria Domestic fraud in Canada by our many governments. The silencing of the lambs (JWR & others) by Trudeau and Carney and their inner circles. The destruction of democracy during the Covid lies. ZERO accountability!!! Until that happens the west needs to stay quiet about labelling others as villains. We are surrounded by them in our own house!

As is written we must:

“Remove the log from your own eye first”

If you believe in free speech, it is not followed up by "but..."

If you don't believe in free speech, the day will come soon enough where you will.

Over the years, the term "Laurentian elite" has, for me, emerged from the depths of epithet into the foreground and I now know what a malevolent force these people are.

From my experience, speech is never free. Most people realise this after they speak more than they could afford. Easily done and the internet makes the fee retroactive. Speak wisely is all I can say, from personal experience.

I guess that depends on how we are defining free speech. Your definition is not the generally accepted one politically and philosophically, which is what I was referring to. Nonetheless, your point is valid and well taken, wise words.

Why is our Prime Minister making announcements and signing documents like he is a President with the power of executive orders? I guess we sort of have the same thing with the PMO, Privy Council, and Orders in Council.

Speaking of which, visited Ottawa for the first time last week and got to see Sir John A's office and Georges Etienne Cartier's office. Highly recommend tour of East Block, fantastic historical resource.

While there, I also did some very rough math on how many billions are tied up in political buildings, it's not a small number.

How did Carney bail out Harper's government and how did he help us through rough times? Harper himself credited Jim Flaherty and stated that Carney had little say in policy.

Plus, I really don't know what this has to do with the topic under discussion.
