Per Carney's second video: no deal is a bad deal. Perhaps he didn't hear the testimony from the tool & dye company representatives in committee. Their family businesses built and grown over generations are out of runway. One gentleman gave said they had 3-6 months before they'd be out of business because 90% of their business flows south of the border.
Canada Day? Over a year with this sinister PM and now it is Canada Day and he is still going to continue to play dirty political games with Canadians livelihoods? When is enough enough. He should be at 0 in the polls, just like his net zero results. Sadly all intentional.
So terribly sad. It is all very devastating as there seems to be nothing (zero) we can do to stop this smirk, slimy elitist that was appointed by the evil liberal party and then manipulated and rigged with the help of the CCP to brainwash the illinformed and illeducated to vote for this disastrous government. Still only 43%. Then they focus only on getting their UNELECTED majority. We are doomed. As for the illinformed and illeducated well it has gone beyond being nice. Anyone voting liberal are willfully blind idiots and fools. It is easier to fool people amthan it is to convince them they have been fooled. Mark Twain said this.
Pierre Polievre will prefer to have a deal with the United States and develop our natural resources if it’s not possible. I believe his position is best, as we must free trade with our largest trading partner, but if they refuse to do so, we must become self reliant in and of ourselves. Carney, on the other hand, would prefer to not even try to get a deal or develop our natural resources, which suit his radical climate agenda. It is VERY clear who is putting Canada First and who is putting Canada last. Polievre is the man with the plan!
"If we are a serious country, we should have a proper official residence for the PM and we should be able to pay for it ourselves without resorting to donations."
..if we were a serious country, we wud NOT have record food bank visits while our PM sends Billions OUR tax $$$$ to Chrystia Sniffle-Twitche's Laundromat in Kiev
In another time I would agree with 24 Sussex being renovated/refurbished,however, given the current state of the economy and specifically the size of the housing crisis liberals generously helped to enlarge, I cannot, in good conscience, support it now.
Since the millions put into Harrington Lake by the last Liberal wastrel have already been spent it is time to make Harrington Lake Canada’s official residence. The PM should also be required to live full-time in what I presume is a secure compound. Spending millions now or anytime before Canada has eradicated the housing crisis, returned the economy to a healthy state, fixed the debt, and returned to even near balanced budgets…I cannot support.
The bottom line is nobody knows if the next President will be better or worse and nobody knows if either side will honour the deal. It’s time to think-outside-the-box to tariff proof ourselves in the future whether it’s from the US or not. I’m on the bartering bandwagon where no $$ is exchanged. Example: Russia bartered wheat to China for cars. Iran bartered oil to China so they can build them an airport terminal
"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."
Looking forward to the interview with Gad and particularly his take on the departure tax. I am sure I will have more to say but(and I generally like what he has to say) he is coming off as whiny and it is not a good look. Anyone as successful as him should be well aware of what happens when you go NR. It should not be a surprise. And he seems to be focussed more on the fact that there is a departure tax. OF COURSE there has to be a departure tax. Every country has some version of it. And it is not really a departure tax in any event. It is consistent with our entire capital gains regime. It is tax he would have had to pay eventually anyway and there are lots of exemptions. You do not, for example, have to pay on your pensions and RRSPs. That remains pay as you go. If these rules were not in place, everyone would just leave. All countries have similar sorts of rules and Gad might actually find the IRS more difficult to deal with. They make the CRA look like geniuses. The other kind of sickening thing is that once he turns 65, he can apply for OAS and not be subject to any clawback so he is going to get some back. There is some free advice for him. Apply for it. The stuff he is deemed to have disposed of also has a bumped up cost base for when he sells it down there. He is not going to get any sympathy from me and he probably should just drop it. If he doesn’t like it, don’t leave. People make these decisions all the time but don’t spout off on social media how they are hard done by. I tell clients all the time, would you rather NOT be stuck with the tax bill because you didn’t make the gain. I think not. It is a rich person’s problem. And the sort of thing you keep to yourself. Kind of like the scene below. Gad is coming off like William Hurt. Rant off.
Sometimes the path of least resistance is the wrong decision. Mark Carney keeps losing with Trump because he is on the wrong path. The day Carney decided to withdraw the counter tariffs, he lost leverage. The day he started showering Trump with compliments, Trump the bully knew exactly who he was dealing with -- a pushover! For a short while we thought Carney was actually going to adopt his "elbows up" approach, but then as recently as the June G7 meeting, Carney jumped up to offer his chair to Donald Trump who complained his was too low. For a man who said he, and only he, knew how to negotiate with Trump, he sure is off course.
Pierre Poilievre is spot on, but are Canadians listening?
Very much looking forward to reading Gad Saad new book.
Yes, we should maintain and upgrade buildings that speak to our past. Yes, we should have a dignified place for the Prime Minister to live, entertain, and socialize with other dignitaries.
Just add this to the long list of apathetic neglect that we have allowed to rot out so many other traditions and values.
I do agree with renovating 24 Sussex as the Prime Minister of any serious country should have an official residence to conduct business. Suggestion to at least partially fund it - after the next election sell Stornoway, the residence of the leader of the opposition. Other G7 countries do not provide their opposition leaders with residences. We would not only get the money from the sale of this 8-bedroom mansion but would also save on paying the chef, housekeeper, chauffeur, and annual budget for operating costs now paid for by the taxpayers.

..there IS something that can be done..

I totally concur 👍
Carney has a different plan..which doesn't even include Canada..(soon to be PNS-1)
(Post National State-1 )

🎯..totally agree..but I don't think Carney's planning on doing ANY of those things in your last sentence..
You are right Don. I also think much of the spending he has announced is spending he won’t follow through with.

Rebuild 24 Sussex FFS. That POS needs a huge over haul and quit doing it on the cheap. Crowd funding is thee most pathetic method of getting this done

CARNEY doesn't want a deal. That's the issue.
We are not a serious Country.
Not by any standard of which I am aware.
