Now, Mark Carney is a wealthy person, well educated, well travelled and supposedly respected. However, he is a member of the WEF (World Economic Forum), who seem to me think they know what is best for everyone, yet he has proved countless times that he has not a CLUE about necessities. His business acumen is ZERO, and the FACT that the only thing that he and others do is to SPEND BORROWED MONEY ON THE BACKS OF FUTURE GENERATIONS to ensure that NET ZERO IS ACCOMPLISHED BY 2050 is ludicrous. MEAN?? Wow? Feelings and running a country should not be used in the same sentence. Since he has proven that it is his way or the highway-same as his predecessor, please prove to us all exactly what has he done? except drive investment out of Canada, alienate our nearest forever neighbor, like him or not. Action, not useless words. And Canada now?? Doomed. Yes, Pierre Poilievre can turn things around!!

If I were advising Pierre Poilievre, I would do three things this summer: 1) I would hit the road with my family intact and meet, shake hands, convene, interact, and schmooze my tail off at as many EDA events as possible. Mr. Poilievre is a warm, considerate and charming fellow; work that to the maximum.
2) any criticism of the Liberals or Mr. Carney or the Country would come from other MPs that I am trying mentor and bring forward. Conservatives have a superior bench; I would let those folks off the leash a little more. Set the tone, delegate, move forward.
3) finally, I would make healthcare my sole, Prime Ministerial policy initiative. The Health Act of 1984 has to go. Melissa Lantsman can take affordability. Andrew Lawton can take gun control. Michael Chong Foreign Affairs. Larry Brock takes the Justice/Lawlwssness file. Sandra Cobena can take economics or finance, or taxation. Ms. Rempel-Garner has immigration. I would spend the summer building quiet support for a complete overhaul of the healthcare system in favour of a hybrid public/private model.
His performance at the gay pride parade in Toronto was completely cringe worthy. I have rarely been more embarrassed for someone. He made a total fool out of himself and embarrassed the country.

They are only 'expensive' because the developers have not REDUCED the prices to be attractive enough to buy a ?400 sqft condo - aka a unit not fit for purpose. We all know that the stuff in a liquidation store has been marked down 30%, 40%, 50% + to make the price attractive enough for someone to buy. Tax payer BAILOUT money will be buying these condos from developers at market prices so that developers are RESCUED from incurring a painful hoop-hurting lo$$ (which is the way that markets are suppose to work). No average Canadian gets a bailout when they buy a house at a high price and need to figure out how to pay the mortgage after they loose their job - where is their rescue?

One quibble I had with Tara was during the discussion of Avi Lewis, “AviMania”, and the electoral consequences for the Conservatives: that is, the idea that the NDP could win back “hard hat” votes from the Conservatives, and hard left votes from disenchanted Liberals.
I can honestly say that no one is talking up Avi Lewis with any success in my area of Ontario.
Those young folks of which Tara speaks are far less ideological, and far more practical than that for which they are credited. They just want the Country to function properly again.
Here is a scenario I kind of played out in my head: suppose Doug Ford steps down before the next election. Suppose Caroline Mulroney takes a stab at the leadership and wins.
No more buffoonish behaviour, no more ignoring the concerns that affect real Ontarians, and a closer, brighter relationship between the Ontario PCs and the federal Conservatives.
Suppose the NDP captures a greater portion of the nutty left, hard core, social democratic, climate alarmist, antisemitic Canadian vote; the picture could change very quickly for the better for principled conservatives, Conservatives, and for Canada.
