Stephen LeDrew (in his last column) thinks Carney has done a 180 on net zero to now support oil and gas. He believes Carney has has a "come to Jesus" moment over natural resources and their responsible development. Stephen is going to be very disappointed very soon.

No

And as long as we keep importing everything for our miltary it will never be anything but a paper tiger that will blow over in the smallest wind.

As they will not be able to replace any loses in a real war.

Our miltary will fold and get washed away as the enemy will re equip and resupply while we wait for imports.

Typically, a military under a Liberal command, is squandered. Canadians are sent to fight UN in war torn nations of which we’ve never heard. The politicians present these useless deployments to boast about our military prowess. Instead our men and women should be trained and developed to the fitness levels of American Marines. They should become experts in leading technology and equipment to a state of readiness to deploy against the criminal cartels and authoritarian regimes who most threaten our freedom and culture. ie China, Sinaloa Cartel, the Zetas, Jalisco.

No, I do not think so, Carney / Trudeau Liberals, it is a dog and pony show, a fact check will prove that Canada does not even make the top ten list of countries with highest military budgets in past 10 years.

This is simply politicing. This get announced, everyone cheers, and then a few months down the road there will be “other priorities have come”, we have commitments elsewhere, this cost more than anticipated (a good and easy call when you have no budget defined) .. we could afford this easily by NOT sending our monies out of country to support governments whose responsibility it is to support their own citizens. How nice it would be if the Canadian fovernment supported there own instead of trying to look good on the world stage

We have not been serious for nearly 50 years when young men like myself were forced out of the service by Pierre Trudeau. I’m still angry and ashamed.
