Kimmel was callous, disrespectful and spreading lies, of course it will effect rating and profit, time to unload him

Surprising at this whole situation! A man was killed. Charlie Kirk had a following, a loving wife and two children. Despite the sadness, maybe making a standup of this awful current event was too soon to even touch.

Still, Kimmel was never funny. It is strange that he has lasted this long. Remember, commedians are todays jester. Their job is to skewer the ridiculous but not take sides as no side is innocent. Kimmel never understood that.

I miss older day jesters where a great roast was expected, woke killed humour by thin skinned funny boneless people censoring :(

All network television is in decline. Ratings are awful, so ad revenues are reduced (or gone).

Late night talk shows with multi-million $$ host contracts, union wages, etc. are especially expensive. If it had not been Mr. Kimmel's remarks, I have no doubt it would've been something else that ended his show.

The entire entertainment complex is in a massive transition. I wonder how much longer we can expect "new at 11". (Yep, just revealed my age!😊)

I have yet to experience a complete sentence from any of the liars on late night tv. The only time i see them at all is when people like you feature them. Stop doing that. Id rather you feature a zoo monkey taking a shit than watch cbc, ctv, or jiminy kibble.

With regard to Jimmy Kimmel, you might want to remind your friend Bill Carrol about the removal of Josh Alexander from school for simply stating his belief that marriage is between one man and one woman. His parents also lost their jobs. People have had enough of the left's madness; enough of being called racists and homophobes and yes I can see a big push back coming.

It's funny watch people cheering a man's assasination and in some cases advocating for the death of his kids and wife because of what he said, and then whine and cry about losing their jobs... Because of what they said. And think that of the two, their lot is worse. And Brian, you still have cable?!

He was low key and about as funny as usual. However, it was inappropriate to make like if charlies death. Jmo

These networks saw an opportunity for an out and took it..

Yes, we suffer the consequences of our words and deeds..good or bad..

How i see it.

Jimmy was not Johnny Carson. And i forget the US is protected by the 1st and 2nd amendment..something we dont have

Very detailed article.

My understanding is that Kimmel was asked to apologize, and he refused: and the rest is history.

Well if this is the case and regulators hold all of the power and can lean on broadcasting entities to rein in the biased misinformation then why is no one in Canada doing a damned thing about the complete capitulation and overtly biased misinformation being perpetuated by the CBC,CTV and Global being directed at the Conservatives and their leader to the distinct advantage of the Liberal party ? Oh ya- I forgot - the Liberals are too busy lining the CBC's coffers every year and in the middle of the election campaign - just to ensure their loyalty - he pledged to give them another $ 150 million. The other networks also get "payola" from the Liberals as well. So much for oversight of the media in this country.

Thank you Brian for your truthful and unbiased report, CTV had a terribly one sided bit on the suspension of Kimmel, they platformed a comedian who had such a partisan view. Typical of our Canadian news media. They seem to miss the point, it wasn’t his jokes, it was the lie that the shooter was MAGA.

Kimmel has been an unfunny and angry person for a long time. He suffers from serious TDS. Will not be missed unlike Charlie Kirk.

Taking away freedom of speech is a dangerous game

I loved Charlie Kirk, say what you want about him. It doesn't change his greatness

If you take away their speech, ours is likely next
