I’ve been talking to Dan McTeague about oil and the price of gas for twenty years now. In 2005, just after getting to Parliament Hill as the Ottawa Bureau Chief, I met the man who was then the Liberal MP for Ajax-Pickering.
It’s hard to believe Dan was ever a Liberal MP, he’s far removed from where they are now even under Carney.
He also knows more about how and why the price at the pump will go up or down than just about anyone in Canada.
We chatted today about the impact of the war on the price of gas, what if anything government could do to help, how taxes could be cut even if temporarily and why Canada doesn’t have a strategic reserve.
