Musk's comments are delightfully refreshing and long overdue. The centre has shifted so far left that conservatives are now portrayed in the media and by progressive politicians as "far" right. This smear has to be called for what it is: a tactic to discourage voters from supporting parties that are not "progressive." Think DEI, Critical Race Theory, Transexual "rights" such as Trans women using female change rooms, and mass immigration. I could go on but you get the picture...

I am fully behind Musk (even though I would never buy a Tesla).

Anyone who disagrees with Mr Elbows Up is labeled far right, misogynistic, Trump lover, fashist, and any other ridiculous adjective.

Wow, if i was and im not, I'd

be afraid to admit it with all those adjectives.

Carney is asked a question about more provincial autonomy with regards to immigration, fumbles and stumbles around for a few seconds then goes right back to the usual liberal meaningless word salad. And THAT is what the legacy media and the elbows up brigade think will save the world. What a crock!

You should listen/read the “friends of cbc” platform. What a naive childishly infatuated group. This is why we have a useless excuse for a leader. So far from reality it almost seems to be like a satirical sitcom. Sad state that Canada has become.

The left seems to live in an alternate universe where up is down, right is wrong and dissension is not allowed. It's very dystopian.

Let me say that some of the things that Elon Musk has been quoted as saying are bizarre - to be charitable - but some of the other things that he has been quoted as saying are simply sensible. Now, which of those two categories result from what he actually has said and which are the result of quotes out of context or just plain lies, I don't know.

What I do know is that the media in this country is absolutely dismissive of any view that is not left of center. And I will leave it there.

He does speak for normal people like me. I don’t think men can become women by putting on lipstick. I don’t want these men in women’s sports. I don’t want millions of Islamic men to come to Canada to hate on our culture and try to implement theirs. I want safety first before bullshit diversity is our strength. I want cheap electricity so I don’t freeze to death in the long Canadian winter. There is more but you get the point.

I was surprised and disappointed to see Danielle nodding like a a bobblehead behind Carney. Once again, we find it does not take long for our best intentioned representatives to become co-opted from spending so much time with our enemies..

She has bargained away basic Important points to achieve what is presented as a victory but is actually boondoggle and a phyrric victory.

Shewas desperate it seems and agreed to castrating our hydrocarbon industry In exchange for small potatoes

That is not to say that Carney didn't say a lot of the things we want to hear in this clip. But what I didn't hear him say was that we want a better class of immigrants than what we have been importing. We've been importing the Intifada.

It’s getting increasingly difficult to listen to anything related to Carney.

Doug Ford is who he is. Carney is a liar.

Imagine carney thinks it’s “ cute” to announce millions of dollars for “ New “ hybrid diesel locomotives . You know ? those things that have been around since the last steam engine retired in 1960.

Toronto. Chris “ who” splits the vote. That generally favours the incumbent ? You are the expert. I think he just screwed any hope you had for a rational candidate like Bradford. More chow? Madness

Sucks to be Brian Lilley living in Toronto.

Where is my foil hat. What’s your take?

Wasn't there a story not long ago about this Chris Alexander fellow accusing a journalist based out of Ottawa of being a Russian asset or closely associated with Russia in some way. I remember reading that story and thinking this Chris Alexander guy is a little odd, and I vote conservative. Don't give two hoots about the Toronto mayoral election though, I expect Torontonians to choose someone that will further escalate the decline of the city.

Don’t believe anything Carney says. It’s not Canada strong it’s Carney strong! Also the Liberals have not gotten immigration under control. The opposite is true. They continue to let in thousands of low-skilled migrants who don’t want to integrate into Canada. They want free services and will soon overrun all our social services if they haven’t already. My children can’t get part-time jobs because of foreign workers and “students”. I am sick of it.

What if it’s the old bait and switch - the twins Carney and Ford have been playing games for a long time now. What if Carney says he needs to win the Beaches bi-election so he says to Ford gotta back down on that airport deal and by doing that you don’t look like a Liberal and Ford says and I am not agreeing to the ALTO laurentian train proposal. Once Carney wins the riding does he relent and give the go ahead for the airport development after all? . Carney is not here for a long time so anything is possible. Will the Beach voters get gaslight again by Carney?

Interesting take and given that liberals, be it the blue or red kind have no morals or principles, anything is possible.

“Why is Mark Carney treated as a philosopher-king when he is, on the evidence of his own career, a butler with an economics degree?”

“He did not build those institutions. He did not remake them. He kept them running, tended other men's machines, polished the levers, and was rewarded at every turn for the one quality the corridor prizes above all others: he never once asked who owned the house he was managing. That is not competence mistaken for greatness. It is obedience mistaken for competence.”

OK Brian, first 2 pints are on me - I bet you --- 1. Dougie is not going to demonstrate the right 'outrage' with having the rug pulled out re: Billy (which is a sound and needed expansion as itemized by your previous posts). 2. Dougie is not going to demonstrate the right indifference/disgust re: Alto which is a ridiculous boon-dogle - it will be a slow speed train with my Mom on it (and she's 85). So lording this pig with lipstick over CarbonTax Carney is good politics but the whole thing should be a non-starter. Who tf in Ontario is going to Que for 'business' - answer - no one. Que is so protectionist, it makes the Chinese blush. "Folks, let me tell you, we all need to work together so Carney can screw Ontario over" said Dougie on his way to QPark cafeteria.

Does Mark Carney not connect the dots? Is he such an elitist that he considers the rest of us yesterday's leftovers? On July 16th he told the Canadian people that Canada would receive all the net profits from the Gordie Howe bridge until such time as the Canadian taxpayers' debt of $6.4 BILLION had been repaid. (BTW notice never a mention of interest on investment). On July 23rd, he did an about turn and matter-of-factly clarified that he had Canadian taxpayers splitting the net profits with the United states for the next 15 years, even though the United States invested $0. Upon hearing this the Canadian taxpayers should have been protesting in the streets, but alas, except for the usual anti-Carney complainers (me included), all was quiet. Carney's support remained solid. A good time to call those byelections.

Now lets turn to the proposed Billy Bishop airport expansion. Prior to a few days ago, Mark Carney had indicated to his former bromance partner, Premier Doug Ford, that the federal government would support expansion of the Billy Bishop airport in downtown Toronto. A few days ago prior to the calling of a by-election in the Toronto Beaches-East York riding, Carney reversed that position and said the federal government would not be supporting this expansion. He caught Doug Ford unawares. It seems Mark Carney felt he had Doug Ford wrapped around his little finger and changing the federal government's position would not cause a rupture (a frequently used Carney word) in their bromance. Now and only now did Doug Ford realize he had been hoodwinked by the Machiavellian character himself, Mark Carney.

The issue is not whether expansion of the Billy Bishop airport is a good undertaking, but more so it is Mark Carney's insincerity. Carney supported the airport expansion because it gave him Doug Ford's support, and he knew this would rattle Pierre Poilievre. Alas, Mark Carney is now high in the popularity polls, thus Doug Ford's support is no longer a priority. Carney' changed his focus from the bromance to winning the byelections. Quite similar to when Mark Carney embraced the anti-carbon emissions agenda, until he didn't.

Mark Carney lies when he breathes.

He is not interested in “Building Canada Strong” but he is obsessed with the personal pursuit of wealth, power and influence.

Mark Carney can’t take credit, so it is not a good idea.

How typical of this small, small man.

I look forward to hearing who is behond Alexander in the Toronto mayoral race. I can't help feeling it is tied in some way to the faction of the Conservative party trying to oust Poilievre. I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory, but I can't help feeling there is something going on behind the scenes. Hopefully I'm wrong!!
