Is there anything the government is not subsidizing or involved in? And that on the backs of Canadians.

To be fair, the CRTC is not the only bureaucracy that needs to be deconstructed, so to speak.

Ford has trashed Trump and America for a year + he’s an A-hole.

Now he thinks shaking hands and a good old pat on the back will give us a great trade deal, doubt it, I wouldn’t give the time of day

As far as praising carney for backing off the 15% tax, why?

He made a fool out of himself again, he’s such a fool, an embarrassment , both him and Ford.

Big talk, trash talk, then gravelling, honest to God could it get any worse, just incompetent

Well, better than taking more pit shots. I thought the latest -- celebrating the 250th -- is a nice gesture. Nice column, again, Brian.

Couldn't agree more Beth. Carney is an arrogant little prick. Ford should just shut his pie hole for a while.

Anyone who doesn’t understand that T was just trolling Justin is literally a moron. And that bunch, ladies and gentlemen, is Mark’s base.

Trudeau started it. After trump left a meeting here it was Trudeau that bad mouthed him. Trump never forgot nor forgave....jmo

I dont care who Carneys base is really. Carneys will be the one whos feet will be held to the fire. Up to him.

One thing I hate the most are hypocrites. The Carney/Fords who "hate" the US and suck up.

Elbows Up CP! Two faced negotiations. The USA expects it.

Colin Pratt's avatar

Elbows UP????? Canada has NEVER lived up to any agreements. Never

KZwick's avatar

True. That's Trump's fault though.

Elbows Up!!

Colin Pratt's avatar

Trump's fault??? This has occurred even before his first stint as President. Name ONE agreement where Canada has lived up to the terms.

KZwick's avatar

Not one that I can think of. 'Cept the treaties with the Islamo/Commie United Nations.

I thought the CRTC should have been destroyed since well before I paid any attention to politics. Almost 50 years ago, I was annoyed about the fact that it could control what music I listened to.

"...before it destroys Canadian industry" ? The CRTC is an anachronism staffed with pompous and oblivious clowns. Burn it down!

Marcie's avatar

Get rid of the CRTC? I second that motion

Ford talks out of both sides of his mouth.. Whatever will get him votes

Canada negotiates emotionally… no good ever comes of emotional negotiations. Surely to God there must be a few smart people in charge of the trade negotiations who can put country before party! Is that wishful thinking in the age of rage bate and gotcha politics?

The political class seems less interested in what’s good for the country and more in what’s good for liberals in general and Carney in particular.

We have a tired, inept, ineffective, emotionally manipulative government that doesn’t seem to care one bit about stimulating and stewarding a solid, resilient economy.

I’ve said it many times, Carney is a smart man but he’s not the leader he thinks he is and he’s heading a morally bankrupt government. Canadians need to get their heads out of the sand, stop blaming everything on big bad orange man and demand better of their own elitist government.

I've always believed Trump was trolling Canada about his 51st state remarks. Canada is it's own worst enemy.

Martin Dixon's avatar

Of course he was. The mad cow amongst Mark’s base is a problem.

YMS's avatar

Canada is a basket case of insecurity.

well...the CRTC has allowed degrading explicit content on Bell tv, a violation of the code. A new 'free preview' station was airing on Bell Fibe, and I had to call half dozen times to get it off my TV.....and that's because no one at Bell knew how to get it off, until I spoke to the 6th rep. I'm sure the CRTC takes its direction from the man with his elbows up in one way or another....

Just my opinion here. It's the left who hate trump and blame trump, around the world, in the usa and yes, in canada. And the left in general are WAY too sanctimonious and prideful, to ever give up the highly public stance that they have taken about him. You are not gonna get any of your canadian trump-haters to ever see who the real destroyers of canada are. The deal should have been made 14 months ago. At this point, what person in canada can go down, negotiate a deal, and come back and have canadians all say: "ah shucks! We were just kidding about how much we hate america."? Who can do that? Canada has a problem.

Ya know eh… Carney and buds along with unaffordable Ford are in this game so deep in being unserious for our country, it’s really a joke!! Things could have gone so much better for us, we might not even had this recession had they all worn their big boy shoes. Now that they have done their damage and got all the no brainers (through main stream media) slandering ,to hate our friends and btw family down there , yeah NOW they can afford to crawl it all back a bit because the rubber is hitting the road now. Even tho I’m Canadian I really hope that our friends down there puts them through the meat grinder, this is the only way the unserious clowns here are going to learn anything! I have a ton more respect for the us administration then ours shit show politicians here.
