Carney wants net zero. Come on! Why do you think for a moment Carney will do what is best for Canada?

And your pick is Poilievre? Change up your leader and maybe we listen. Otherwise.....

There’s nothing wrong with Pierre Poilievre! You wouldn’t listen regardless who the CPC leader is.

Wrong. I have voted PC - Harper

If there is nothing wrong then why did he lose his home seat?

I think you can figure it out when you get honest about the changes made to the riding coupled with Pierre indicating he would be reducing the size of government. P.S. Harper was CPC Leader and PM 10 years and 4 elections ago. Even so, Stephen Harper supports Pierre Poilievre, so what’s your problem?

Nice try. Not buying what you’re trying to sell. I doubt you ever even voted for Stephen Harper. Enjoy your upped elbows.

Canadians perceive a trade war due to years of strong anti-Trump rhetoric from major media outlets like CBC and CTV. These sources often portray Trump negatively, emphasizing critical narratives and aligning with Democratic perspectives. As a result, many Canadians may lack balanced information, influencing their views as voters.

It looks like we are being set up for another national emergency. Masks and a vacene may be necessary to guard against the new orange monster virus.

Where is Mark Carney's loyalty? Back in 2013 he left his position as Governor of the Bank of Canada two years before the end of his term to assume the same position in Britain. In 2018 he obtained British citizenship. In 2024 as Chair of Brookfield Asset Management he recommended Brookfield move its head office from Toronto to New York as it would financially benefit Brookfield. After leaving the UK Mark Carney's family established themselves in New York City, not Canada. Mark Carney is loyal to Mark Carney, not Canada.

On May 6, 2025, Carney met with Trump in the Oval office, thanked and complimented him for his leadership and being a transformational leader. On June 4, 2025, Trump announced he would be increasing the tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum to 50%. Carney responded saying he would not apply reciprocal tariffs until July 21, 2025. Canadians patiently waited for Carney to put elbows up. Alas, never happened!

Carney is an ambitious bureaucrat. He is not a risk taker. He is not an elbows-up type of guy.

Since becoming Prime Minister he has adopted many policies in Pierre Poilievre's platform. He is also not an initiator.

Most concerning he is not pro-Canada, as evidenced just recently by his government giving BC a $1 billion loan to purchase Chinese-made ferries, not Canadian made. His focus should be Canadians!

An excellent article Brian, and it seems clear that we Canadians are our own worst enemy. As a retired geologist and an immigrant of some 20 years, I can vouch for the huge economic potential of our resource industry - and, sadly, the glacial pace for getting projects approved and developed. Trump is doing this country a service more than we might think - to get off of bums and reach for the stars! Let's make a deal and start helping ourselves.

Brian, Sylvain Charlebois has an excellent article today about the China tariffs and the Liberals clinging to a dying ideology (EV) rather than save our farmers, if you haven’t seen it.

Another reporter who ignores the fact that the Republicans and Trump still want free trade with Canada.

They still want what Ronald Reagan proposed to Canada 40 years ago.

They still want what Canada elected Brian Mulroney to do.He ran a campaign to inact Free Trade between Canada and America he claimed it would take 7 years.

Yaa 7 years for Canada to have duty free restrictions free trade with America with an open border like EU nations have.

The Americans are still proposing the same thing we already voted for.

It is our corrupt politicians who have obstructed it for 40 years already.

From what I understand, it is Canada that wants free trade with the largest economy in the world, BUT Canada wants it on its own terms. Not going to happen.

That doesn’t sound much like free trade if Canada wants to be protectionist, does it.

This article contains some valid points but ultimately is just more nonsense from the right.

Firstly- Pierre just isn't the man for Canada. Light weight to say the least. Reminds me Rubio.

Secondly- changes to Canada internally are not going to be made overnight.

Thirdly, as I have said previously, we are great at whining, but not at recognizing, that for all its faults, there really is no better place on earth than Canada. Maybe Finland Norway etc.

Our neighbors to the south are moving a very dark place and being situated where we are, our position Should be different from other countries- they have the luxury of distance...

Nope. Just saying that losing your mind and playing politics is not helpful. Fine, be critical, but understand that this guy is elected, and therefore favored over PO who has not been able to win his own riding.

Critique is crucial to democracy.

Over the top commentary like we are becoming totalitarian is a joke and diminishes any points that might be useful.

Do NOT take your cues from the hair on fire crowd.

Your circle of influence would maybe find this interesting. Would love to have other sources than Rebel Clowns for your future correction of my newly found « Libtard » manufactured info from Justin Trudeau. I thought I would accuse myself of these original accusations before other people to save my many replies.

« Black Press Media has reached out to BC Ferries for more information about the timing of the loan deal, but had not received a response by publication.

Freeland told B.C. Transportation and Transit Minister Mike Farnworth she was "dismayed" by the decision to build the ships in China, and she wanted him to "confirm with utmost certainty that no federal funding will be diverted to support the acquisition of these new ferries."

Premier David Eby has defended the decision, saying it would have cost at least $1 billion more to build them elsewhere. »

The ferry order in BC we gave china ..Canada's excuse was.. lower wages from china and too busy.

We put 100% tarriffs on china because we knew they would do the same as the ferry deal. Cheap labour.. were not ready for EVs. Nor do we want them so i read.

Then china blocks our canoil. Farmers vs car mfgs. Kind of unfair. Hope BC cancelled their order. Or can they?
