For what it is worth, I live among Boomers and it it hard to have any kind of a discussion about Canadian politics. They segue to how much they hate Donald Trump and they see Carney as the anti-Trump. Their pensions are secure so facts don't matter.

After WWII, Canada - demographer David Foot noted this years ago - had proportionately the largest baby boom in the Western world. The Boomers are now pensioned, insulated, and if the ones I interact with are any guide, oblivious to everything except hatred of Donald Trump. They never talk about Canadian politics because, with Carney in charge, bashing Trump is all they feel they need.
Boomers are probably the main consumers of the legacy media that the rest of us are forced to support with our taxes. Those media are telling them what they want to hear. That is what they are, in reality, paid to do and it all works well for Carney's Liberals.
So, even as more young people are leaning conservative, the Boomers' disproportionate influence is a situation Canada's Conservatives must stickhandle for a while longer.
I offer only one thought on that: They should not make concessions to Boomers that turn off the young people. The young ones will be voting much longer.
