Good column, I wouldn't put much stake in this idea except that Trump’s increasingly belligerent foreign policy and trade stances are straining his relationships with some of his own support base and foreign diplomats and heads of state. Harper was vastly more understated and diplomatic but still fell to an unaccomplished simpleton like Trudeau, after the big red Liberal political machine got through with polishing Justin's image. We know California is somewhat of a mess but they did re-elect Newsom as governor. And you know the DNC is perfectly capable of polishing Newsom's image to a gleaming sheen. Let's not forget that Trump's victory was not so decisive as his supporters would have one believe. Yes, he won all seven swing states but some of them were very close. Also, Trump's core MAGA base is not the 77+ millions of voters that actually voted for Trump, it is somewhat smaller than that. I don't like Trump's belligerent attitude towards Canada but I do agree with much of what he's done to clean up his own backyard. I know, it's all in The Art Of The Deal, Trump's methods to his madness, but that does not necessarily mean it's the best way forward in international diplomacy and negotiations. Time will tell if everything Trump's done or achieved will stand the test of time and survive the next administration but his methods have not done his potential successor, be it Vance, Rubio, or someone else, any favours. And a political empty suit, potentially Gavin Newsom for example, may well win the Democrats the Whitehouse in 2028. After all, Word Salad Annie (a.k.a. Kamala Harris) almost won the election herself and she's much less polished than Newsom.
This is fair warning. Trudeau ruined Canada’s economy and set it up for total failure aka Chinese or American takeover. China = violent persecution & bloodshed. America = lower taxes, strong military; freedom to choose 👍 but 👎Gavin Newsom, AOC, Mamdani.
The difference between Newsom and Trudeau is that Newsome can be tied to the failure of California and Trudeau was an empty vessel that gullible Canadians could pour their hopes and dreams (and unreasonable hatred of Harper) into. Newsome wants to do for the rest of the US what he did for California, is not a winning slogan for a US presidential campaign.
Get rid of the voting machines and do in person , no mail in( or extensively scrutinized severely limited )citizen only in person hand counted voting and we will find out if these WEF puppets are the public’s choice candidates.
Little known fact. 5'7" 136 pound Yukon MP, Ryan Leef, offered to fight Justin. They would not take him up on his offer. Too bad. Because he would have kicked his ass and maybe saved us a lot of grief.
Doubt it. Trudeau won because he was/is much taller and his arms are so long his opponent couldn’t get close enough to hit him. All orchestrated by Libs to get the girls excited. I remember lining up to vote in 2015 and a group of young girls were in front of me all of whom were gushing about handsome JT and his great hair. I knew it was over then—not to mention the Libs had and still have the paid MSN as their propaganda machine. Never a bad word about Libs—always negative reporting on Conservatives.
he's been a Trudeau since his inception. they're ol'WEF buddies. When he's done destroying California for Chinas landing(similar to David Eby), they'll give him the pop icon of his chosing ....maybe Diddy and a lifetime supply of baby oil.😆
I wouldnt call it a win where he had a minority government. That means more people voted against him than for him. And Jagmeet kept him propped up the whole time
Justin Trudeau was able to win and remain PM for ten years because he benefited from a very supportive media, a gullible, headline reading electorate, a last name that central and eastern Canadians love but western Canadians loath. He divided the country, ridiculed and chastised his opponents and the media lapped it up and provided him with extremely favourable coverage while disparaging anything conservatives. I get 2015, try it once to see, I don't get 2019 or 2021 and I sure don't get 2025 even if Trudeau was finally gone for that one. Liberals be liberals. they know how to win. I think conservatives are more principled and keep losing because they don't get the free positive media coverage from the media party and also because they can't disregard all their principals, deceive or stretch the truth in order to win at all cost. Conservatives would also do better if Poilievre showcased his team more instead of always being centre stage. If the American electorate is equally as apathetic and gullible as Canadians then Newsom has a good chance to come out on top. Common sense not required.
"Bill Maher's guest Caitlin Flanagan (California born and raised) goes on a rant about how poorly Gavin Newsom is running the state of California. She preceded the rant with "I know you're friends with Newsom"
"I know you like him but I can't imagine him having the gall to run to lead the country when he's led this state into the ground"
"The hospital put out a notice last week: 'Employees are not to leave for lunch it's too dangerous in downtown Oakland""
If Newsom becomes America's Justin Trudeau, I feel sorry for them.
That is a very scary proposition. He is a 100% grifter, like his Aunt, Nancy Pelosi and Diane Feinstein - he learned from the best.

Why do we keep calling them 'liberal'? Is there not another word that better describes them?
Or maybe I just experienced it differently.
Personally I like champagne socialists...

It is truly beyond comprehension that almost half of Canadians supported in any way This Absolute Disgrace of a Human !!

No one should have to endure any Trudeau

Two party's in Kanadastan, Conservative and Communist. A liberal minority will forever more be propped up by the rest.
Good point Brian. I think you may have something there 😂😂😂😂
