The west does not get anything from the Laurentian elite. Let the east coast pay Quebec’s bribe money and Alberta will have a petrol dollar. The Liberal governments of Trudeau and Carney have no problem throwing billions at EV battery plants in Ontario and Quebec but same old broken promises for the west.

We are in a massive recession. And have been for two years. The job creators are hamstrung in every way. We exist on inflationary deficits. Trump’s tariffs haven’t even kicked in yet. On paper yes. But in effect, no. Trump is not our problem. Liberal Party of Canada is our main problem. NDP is a problem. A bought and paid for media which won’t report the recession, and an ultra left bureaucracy, are two more.

You have to admire the Liberals ability to promote and market themselves. They make sure to get maximum credit and accolades recycling the same announcements again and again. For years in Ontario Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne with occasional appearances by Justin Trudeau held regular pressers announcing the same transit “investments” over and over again. If we were to add up all of these announcements we should have spent $100 trillion by now. 🤑

Great article Brian. And yes, did we really exect any gas and oil projects? Not until bill c69 is cancelled.. its not on the list.. what will it take?

Researched mexico today.. why...?

2800 companies are there now doing business from Canada.. scary. Mexico is doing great.

Charlie did not deserve that vicious shot to his neck. Hes not an animal. I have no pitty for this kid.

Charlie was religious.. and as you say would debate anyone.. he knew his stuff. A guy that could impress

With his smarts.. RIP Charlie.. ❤️

The Transmountain Pipeline expansion is an example of severely mismanaged spending of taxpayers' money. It came in at about 6 times the original cost and took about 3 times longer to build than the original estimates. Private enterprise would have done it closer to budget and in a fraction of the time. To add insult to injury we have had a recent major jump in gasoline prices in BC because the oil from the TMP is shipped to Washington State for refining and the Americans are meeting their needs and limiting the supply coming back the BC. Why does BC not do all of its own refining and keep the oil in Canada? I suspect it's because the 'holier than thou' environmentalists like to attribute the CO2 emissions from refining to the Americans like they attribute their coal emissions to the Chinese and the landfill garbage they export to the Americans. The hypocrisy is embarassing and needs to be exposed.

I'm sorry, what private enterprise was lining up to build TMP?

The one who finally gave up because of endless, ridiculous regulations and delays, Kinder Morgan.

That is NOT the reason. I live in Alberta and work in oil and gas. They abandoned the projects because OPEC concentrated effort to drive the price of NA oil had made the projects unprofitable. Just like every other oil company here that pulled their money for the same reasons. It was already approved ffs. Please don't just parrot right wing cult talking points when you don't know reality.

Aye aye, Captain! For the record, though: Because it is different from what you say, and may be only partially correct, does not make my comment “right-wing rhetoric”. BC NDP played a huge role in the problems encountered, and are continuing on the same path today. Dean Blundell fans aren’t exactly famous for their independent thought.

What religion does Dr Ruth Marshall teach? There is only one that preaches death.

This person diminishes the U of T. She thinks her opinions are worthy of a great institution.

Also diminishes the value of a PhD.

Right………….with the PhD in Ruth Marshall’s case it is once again clear, that the PhD degree does not convey wisdom and good judgement. With Ruth Marshall’s PhD it rather means piled high and deep.

In view of the happenings at and vitriolic rhetoric coming out of U of T in recent times, is it still “a great institution?

We've known for a few years now, that to speak out against the lefts sacred cows is to be brave. Thank you Mr. Lilley. Makes me think of Canadian hero Billboard Chris. A picture of bravery in mad times.

Is this Dr Ruth Marshall still employed by U of T? If they have hesitated for even a moment, then strike U of T entirely off the list of reputable institutions...i initially typed unstitutions, which is likely more accurate. Does this woman feel that someone with an opposing view to hers would be justified in killing her? Not likely. I find this kind of rhetoric evil. She is the face of everything that is wrong with the Western world at the moment

Marshall is currently “on leave” whatever that means. I suspect she is still being paid or the U of T announcement would have said unpaid leave or leave without pay; however, there was no mention of pay.

Thanks Brian Lilley for your valued, respected and fair opinion On the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk; the demonic evil responses to it from others and the sad truth of Canadian federal governments empty, worthless promises. IMHO as a senior whose father fought and died for this country at 22 years of age, it is obvious that there a definite goal to obliterate both Christianity and Judaism in a desperate attempt for power and control, with whatever means to achieve it, by the murderous killing of anyone and everyone in their way. All of our freedoms in this country and most of the world are disappearing with malicious, evil intent. Our institutions are brainwashed, our speech is censored and the fear factor prevalent when discourse is attempted. History always repeats itself and it appears imminent. The hate and vitriol spoken by many are now being disciplined, and that is as it should be. May God help us all.

Mark Carney's big announcement no surprise, and nothing big, and of course, no pipelines. He has not met a single one of Danielle Smith's demands, yet she publicly states that she thinks this is encouraging or okay??? Can someone please ask her why? I haven't heard any explanation.

Next why wasn't Marshall just fired, end of story. And we wonder why kids come out of university hateful and ready to call anyone who disagrees with the garbage they have been fed by 'professors' like this, fascists. This is not hard to figure out. She is a disgrace, and as far as I can tell, not mentally stable, quite frankly.

On Charlie Kirk's assassination, well I think all should be glad that his killer has been arrested. But I can't imagine the pain of his own family turning him in, but God bless them at the same time. Does anyone notice that in the wake of Charlie's ever so public murder in front of his family and the world, thanks to video that there are no riots in the streets, no buildings being burned, no massive demonstrations that become violent, no police being assaulted. Only quiet vigils that unbelievably, but not surprisingly have been interrupted by the same loonie leftists that have been cheering his death on line. In their reaction to his death they have shown us who the really are and it is not a pretty picture, they really need to look in the mirror themselves and realize that. This horrid event has shown the difference between Conservatives and the leftists. We do not respond to one violent despicable act, with more of the same.

I absolutely abhor Justin Trudeau, I cannot even hear his voice without wanting to scream and I think he has done considerable damage to this country. That said, if he was horribly killed I wouldn't be dancing on his grave like these people are doing to Kirk. As a matter of fact, I remember how disgusted I was with Lucien Bouchard, when left the Conservative government over disagreement on the Meech Lake Accord and went on to join the Parti Quebecois and the Quebec sovereignty movement found the Bloc Quebecois, and spearhead a yes vote for the referendum. It was a slap the face to Mulroney and Canada from my perspective, so suffice it to say I had no love for Bouchard. Yet, when I heard that he had contracted the flesh eating disease and was facing possible death, but did survive after having a leg amputated I felt only compassion and sorrow for the man. Despite disagreeing with his actions and even being angry over them, I wished him well and a speedy recovery. Why, because I am a normal human being, with normal feelings, and compassion and believed that no one deserved to suffer in such a manner. Funny how so many on the left just can't grasp such a simple concept.
