The Big Red Machine is gearing up for an early spring election, as soon as they manufacture a confidence vote loss, and blame the opposition parties as irresponsible when we are living in a RUPTURE in the fabric of time…bla, bla, bla.

Seeking more power to ensure we only proceed with “Liberal Values” as we try to dig out of from the last destructive decade…of …Liberal Values..

Ughhh. I need a drink…

It was a yes or no question. He wants an election.

He is also a perpetual liar.

He’s been known to fabricate answers before

Yup, I was going to mention the lying thing, but by now everyone knows that. What I don't understand is that we put up with Trudeaus lies for 10 years and then voted in another liar. I guess like the above comment by Trevor Crisp, a bit of rum is in order.

Well, my take, we had soft Liberals, they hated Trudeau (literally). When they replaced Trudeau with Carney they felt a bit safer ( they did NOT do their homework on where he was from (WEF) or what his values are). Then the Liberal propaganda machine went into overdrive. Including the CBC and other mainstream media.

Reading Liberal comments on social media, listening to the CBC , and other Leftist groups it is easy to see why the Liberals were re-elected.

Unless re-education or de-indoctrination is done Canada will be in very, very bad shape.

Carole Saville's avatar

Interesting take. There certainly needs to be re-education, although it might not help. The idea that western canada is filled with Dodge 3500 rams, rednecks and perpetual whiners seems to be solidly ingrained. Although westerners are sure that everyone in the east is a loony lefty. This has been going on as long as I can remember and I am 73. But the rhetoric has increased in intensity in the last 15 years or so. Also, the Canadian smugness in regard to the US has advanced in the last 15 years as well. None of this is positive.

I see that Fanjoy was at the presser. All that does is remind folks that the constituents whose jobs he ran on protecting(unsuccessfully but I digress) will soon need this benefit. Maybe Carney is not as "smart" as people think he is.

Irene M Tracey's avatar

You mean somebody was ever stupid enough to think this WEF ,banker Carnay was smart ?

Halb Bitter's avatar

Liberals need to confidently lead in the polls by 10% or more for the snap election to make sense - so at this point Carney probably isn't sure himself.

It would be nice if NDP could come up with a Layton-caliber leader and claim back their voters.

Irene M Tracey's avatar

Who would ever trust the NDP again after Singh and their phoney coalition.we would have gotten ridd of Trudeau and the libs ,and would never had Carnage Carnay to deal with.

Halb Bitter's avatar

Enough people trusted (and trusting) Liberals after 10 years of JT, sooooo....

YMS's avatar

Have you seen the line up of NDP contenders? Yikes!

Halb Bitter's avatar

I understand, but I personally have no clue what kind of leader or ideas would resonate with with the left-wing crowd.

Corporate welfare is the meat of the LPC. They feast on billions only to reward Canadians with the overpriced bill. The Canadian government will never dig themselves out of this financial hole. Telesat Canada is the latest con, 5 Korean submarines to be built in the next 10 years, maybe.

Carney lies like he breathes. I wish he’d stop.

If Trudeau held on so long, all the while being untouchable, I'd imagine nothing short of a military coup would alter the course of the Canada's trajectory towards Chinese strategic control. After all, Carney was a senior level advisor throughout the Trudeau regime even if it wasn't in official capacity. The post national state, in its present state is not looking to good.

People are so caught up with TDS it in itself is insane, they need to give their head a shake! Those people are more worried about the U.S and Trump when it is China that security risk to us and to other countries. We should all be concerned with what is happening in Taiwan - China is knocking at their door! Most all manufacturing companies who design and manufacture electronic equipment get their integrated components/ semiconductors from Taiwan. If China takes control - It won't be good ( to say it nicely )! Those components are used in Cell phones, computers, tablets, vehicles, even your kitchen appliances!

YMS's avatar

Carney seems to find accountability to be a bore even in a minority government; can you imagine what he would be like with a majority?

Craig Smith's avatar

Pierre should have held him to account in the fall and brought the government down.

YMS's avatar

He’s trying but he also has to overcome the media party and the ever so fearful elbows up brigade.

Trish's avatar

For crying out loud Canadians vote conservative

A liberal majority would be the end of Canada, what’s left of it

He doesnt have a strait answer on the election question because he doesn't have one.. yet! Waiting on Pierre's review...JMO

He did a good job on the army and our contributions.. trump really didn't mean it..he wanted to hurt us because hes hurting. Were Old friends Trump. Lay down and people will walk on us!

Sandra Watson, is correct.. its the relationships that are in question.

Like doing deals with the 😈 devil.

Mr McQueen has summarize quite well our reasons for not being more prosperous... very informative.. my heart is with the liberals..they are forward thinking go getters...but my head is with pierre this time.. policies matter.. !

Great read...

What Carney did that no one has focussed on, is deal with a major western grievance, the Chinese tariffs on canola and other agricultural products. They were imposed only because we went lock step with the Americans in imposing 100% tariffs on Chinese EV's. By addressing that he opened markets for western farmers and actually strengthened national unity and if you doubt that have a listen to Scott Moe from Saskatchewan.

David John Peters's avatar

The canola business was taken away by China, only to be given back in exchange for Chinese EV sales in Canada. China 1, Canada 0. Great negotiator.

Doug Stephens's avatar

Hopefully Canadians are smart enough to not buy these EV's. ..oh right.

Christopher White's avatar

Again, when you put 100% tariffs on their cars to please the Americans, you are shocked that they fought back? You can blame the US and our acting like their vassal. Apparently you have no sympathy or support for western farmers either.

Carole Saville's avatar

The problem is that the US buys substantially more canola from Saskatchewan. There is a good chance the Trump will tariff canola now.

The other threat is that when trade negotiations start again, western produce will pay the price for the protection of dairy products - again. It is great that the Chinese tariffs are off. For now.

David John Peters's avatar

Your indicating that the Biden government is responsible for putting tarriffs on western Canola? That's a bit rich considering that we are a sovereign country. China is not our friend and we have many, many reasons to believe this to be true. The US has lowered its production of wheat in the last couple of decades. There might be opportunities for other products.
