Pierre, I find is likable. I’ve liked him since I first watched him on CPAC. He’s always been concerned about the Liberals spending and all of Bill’s being pushed through to hurt our country. I have a difficult time understanding how people, especially liberals can’t get it in their heads that Pierre is so knowledgeable in every way and knows how we could work together to make Canada the great country it could be.
So Canadians don’t like Pierre and now they don’t trust him either. But he is real strong and lifts heavy weights so I guess that makes him qualified to lead the country. OK. I worked for years with Ipsos, the world's largest polling firm. When I was the Ottawa Bureau Chief for Standard Radio (Newstalk 1010 in Toronto and CJAD in Montreal) they were our pollsters. I talked weekly to either John Wright or Darrell Bricker about their polling, the process they used, they taught me how to read polls in a useful way. I was with them as they transitioned from phone surveys, which were becoming more difficult to conduct, to online panels. They worked hard to ensure the online panels were as accurate as phone surveys. Not all polls, not all panels are created equally.
Look at who I use, who I report on, it tell you who I trust. Ipsos, Abacus, Leger and Angus Reid is quite good as well.
To me it looks like there can be a large baked-in bias between pollsters that I assume comes from the panel recruitment process. Perhaps that bias is similar to the one that keeps some people on the line with IVR or on the page with online polls.
