It's easy to do. Just lower the GDP and reclassify some assets. 5%? No problem, we will just lower the GDP more i n the coming years so that 5% will be achievable.

lol I was going to say no. You and Mike changed that lol

We’ll soon be at 10% of GDP 😬

I was being positive.

Is the government including in the 2% security for MPs, bomb sniffing dogs, and military protection for Liberal events? The honour guard soldiers saluting PM Carney, MPs and other floor crossers as they come and go on international trips on military aircraft’s?

Obviously Not.

The average hunter spends more on defense than the Pathetic Liberals!!!

Sort of - my buddy works for the feds (5-eyes). He and 2 colleagues went to Australia for a knowledge-base exchange for 3wks. First class there and return - cha-ching. Notwithstanding - the vastness of Canada dictates sensor and drone technology/surveillance is a better bang for the buck - some would/could say a new Canadian industry (Feds wouldn't say that tho). So you could spend more bucks AND not necessarily throw them at the trad (US) military industrial complex but not under this Canadian military 'leadership'.

Personally I do not believe we have achieved the 2% and the 5% is just a phantom wish. For this socalled 2% I believe all they have done is take money from one pocket and put it into another one and renamed it. Great optics, this government really good at this sort of thing. I guess I am being over cynical considering the performance of this government, to date, so unless I see it and can feel it I will not believe it.

Don't blame you Gary. If a person is not a cynic this liberal government will make you one. Carney does a shitload of talking without any action. He's always "thinking" about something.

What Canada needs to worry now is not military spending, we have… way bigger problems now

Martin Dixon's avatar

Of course not. It is just funny math just like the reclassification of annual expenditures to capital. But, to be fair, that sort of behaviour is literally the modus operandi for GS bros.

Well, we all know that PP personally has been stopping the Liberals from doing anything since Carney was elected. Anyhoo, counting all the floor crossings and the vote in 3 ridings tonight will no doubt give him the Majority he seeks. Wonderful you Mr Carney, you can no longer point the finger at PP. Now you can proceed at lightspeed, secure a new customs agreement, put in the new pipeline without hindrance, and complete all those new houses you want to build and most af all strengthen the bail laws and fix the crime that PP and those pesky conservatives have been stopping you from doing.

We all sit here with bated breath, knowing how good you are at getting these things done immediately.

Yes Peter, at speeds never seen before. You're right. Now nothing and no one stands in his way.

Thanks Karen, this man is an outright liar I do not believe one word he says and I doubt very much that he has reached his 2% target, again its just a bunch of MOU,s. No subs, no planes, no tanks, so far one exact order for new rifles, thats it ?
