Great survey of the referendum. Need more analysis of this quality. Brought down by the inclusion of Boessenkool IMO. Perhaps someone actually living in Alberta. Signing the firewall letter all well and good, but Ted covered that angle. Perhaps someone reasonable from current day efforts - Keith Wilson perhaps. Boessenkool clearly no dummy but his Smith Derangement Syndrome very offputting

I agree that Ken brought it down but also I think both men are living in the past and the reason I follow Brian is that he is non-partisan and he's living in the present.

Apparently, wanting provinces to exercise the sovereignty and constitutional powers they already possess, as Premier Smith has advocated, now makes you a separatist.

There is a fundamental difference between advocating for provincial autonomy within Confederation and advocating for separation from Canada. We should be able to discuss and defend the constitutional division of powers without being labelled separatists.

It would be very interesting to interview David Knight Legg, who was also an advisor to Jason Kenney's and get his take on the results. Ken Boessenkool is so off putting.

Anytime I see this subject come up I'm always surprised to find out how many people are mindlessly partisan. This referendum was an interesting exercise and it was definitely imperfect but I think it has been very useful. As for Danielle, it seems that it doesn't matter what she does. She's damned if she does and she's damned if she doesn't. I can see that it's wearing on her. I certainly don't agree with all her decisions but I don't know where we're going to find anybody better. Trying to lead conservatives is like trying to herd cats.

Alberta separatists HATE “Progress”, they want to live in a static world of oil energy. Alberta Separatists, should be cheering on Quebec Separatists becoming their own country, they get the largest share of equalization payments. If Quebec separates, they don’t get the majority of Alberta Money.

They have it all wrong.
